This 13-day luxury cruise is a fascinating exploration of some of the Mediterranean's jewels, including Greece’s ancient architecture, Israel’s religious sites and Italy’s rich art culture. You’ll start in historic Rhodes, where palaces and ancient ruins line turquoise waters, before hopping over to Cyprus' olive groves and sugar-white beaches. You’ll sail to Jerusalem’s gardens, sacred religious sites and Middle Eastern splendours before discovering Tel Aviv’s contrasts of ancient roots and modern skyscrapers, after which you'll explore the white mountains and Bronze Age settlements of Crete. After strolling through Valletta’s fascinating archaeological digs, you'll end in the shimmering ports of Sicily, the valleys and citrus groves of coastal Sorrento and finally Rome’s rich art heritage. And you'll do it alongside the ultimate in luxury on the all-inclusive Regent Seven Seas Voyager, featuring sprawling suites, six gourmet restaurants and an indulgent spa.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1

You'll begin your trip in style with included VIP airport lounge access before flying directly to Athens. Upon arrival, take your included shared transfer directly to the port to embark your home for the next 13 days, the spectacular Seven Seas Voyager. Here, the journey is just as important as the destination itself – guests will experience all-inclusive luxury alongside exquisite, spacious suites, many of which feature personal balconies. A sprawling pool deck and elegant spa are among the amenities on deck, and in the evening, enjoy gourmet meals in opulent settings, from the leather and burnished wood of steakhouse Prime 7 to the chic French menu of Chartreuse, evocative of a fine Parisian dining restaurant.

Day 2

Today will see you sail to Rhodes, renowned as the site of the former Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Turquoise bays frame this historic island, where the Palace of the Grand Masters and replica of the old church are both must-visits. Perhaps head on a panoramic city tour or explore its religious history, taking in the archeological wonders of the city and ancient stadium that afford wonderful photo opportunities.

Day 3
Limassol, Cyprus

After a sumptuous breakfast you'll hop over to Cyprus in the form of Limassol and its ancient riches. Lemon groves, historic ruins, enormous mountains and long beaches make up this historic city, perfectly explored with a drive through the foothills of vineyards and orchards, or heading to historic sites such as Lemesos Castle and the basilica. Seven Seas Voyager offers a wealth of excursions for each day of the cruise, all of which can be organised from the comfort of the ship. Perhaps head on a tour to marvel at the cathedral of St. John and the ancient Venetian fortifications before enjoying an exquisite meal on board in the stunning Compass Rose restaurant, offering a refined menu under warm golden and maroon lighting.

Days 4-5
Haifa, Jerusalem

The next two days will be spent exploring Jerusalem, known as the land of miracles, where Galilee, the Jordan River and Nazareth form religious sites that are of the utmost significance worldwide. Head to the Bahai Gardens of Haifa to see the largest hanging gardens in the world, or stroll down Massada Street, offering a wonderful selection of antiques and crafts, or the artists’ village of Ein Hod where hand-blown glass, pottery, and silver line the streets. Finish the day with fresh fish or grilled lamb – the specialities of this region – in an al fresco eatery, before sampling the traditional dessert, kanafeh, comprised of cheese, honey and pistachios.

Day 6
Ashdod, Jerusalem

A sail south sees you arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage city of Tel Aviv. It’s certainly a city of contrasts, where ancient roots lie alongside modern skyscrapers, making for fascinating exploration. Discover the Old City with a tour of its temples and monuments, or journey to the spectacular Red Sea and its buoyant waters. Alternatively, Tel Aviv is a wonderful starting point for trips to historical Bethlehem, Massada and Jaffa, one of the oldest cities in the world. After a full day exploring, perhaps enjoy a massage in the luxury spa before an expertly-mixed cocktail by the stunning pool bar overlooking the sunset.

Day 7
Cruising the Mediterranean sea

Today you’ll enjoy a day cruising the Mediterranean sea. Perhaps enjoy a fitness class or jog around the track, before enjoying a browse of the boutique shops or a swim in the pool. You may wish to enjoy an intimate candlelit meal at Sette Maria at La Veranda tonight, then relax with an after-dinner drink in the stunning Horizon Lounge, accompanied by the ship’s onboard musicians.

Day 8
Heraklion, Crete

White beaches, ancient treasures and quaint villages combine to make Crete much more than just Greece’s largest island. Head to the Minoan ruins of the Palace of Knossos, the labyrinth where the fearsome minotaur once roamed, and explore the Archaeological Museum, home to fascinating historic artefacts. Or, perhaps head inland to discover the orchards of Lassithi, with its 7000 windmills and characterful villages, before enjoying lunch in a traditional tavern to make the most of this region, indulging in a hearty moussaka or souvlaki with a local beer.

Day 9
Cruising the Mediterranean sea

Enjoy today exploring the rest of the extensive amenities of the luxurious ship. Whether you're sunbathing on deck, relaxing in the whirlpool tubs, or just relaxing with a book in the Observation Lounge, make sure to take in the stunning surrounds of the Mediterranean that serve as your grand backdrop. Perhaps enjoy games of cards in one of the many lounges before some sundowners on deck or in one of the ship's opulent bars.

Day 10

Arriving in Malta, you’ll be met with the stone buildings and fascinating history of Valletta, Malta’s major port and capital, the entirety of which was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980. At its heart is the 19th century Mosta Dome, dominating the island – after exploring its vast interior, take a stroll through the walkways, sculptures and fountains of the stunning San Anton Palace Gardens. Or, perhaps head on a day tour to take in the spectacular vistas of the Dingli Cliffs, where a stroll along the top affords panoramic views of the rugged cliffs and scenic coastline.

Day 11
Messina, Sicily

You’ll reach Italy today in the form of Messina, the third largest city in Sicily, where marble fountains and an abundant of historically significant landmarks pepper the city, such as the Gothic architecture of the Norman Messina cathedral. Head on a day trip to the famed Mount Etna, or enjoy a wine tour after a scenic drive along Sicily's endless rolling vineyards. Tonight, perhaps enjoy an exciting musical in the Constellation Theatre as you sit on cabaret-style seats enjoying post-dinner cocktails.

Day 12

Today will see you anchor in spectacular Sorrento, where a tranquil sea is framed by verdant rugged cliffs, and citrus groves lie among deep valleys and winding roads. It's perfectly explored with a scenic drive through the Riviera along rocky seaside cliffs and boats sheltered among sandy coves. There’s also a deep history and culture here – head on a day trip to the ancient city of Pompeii, stopping to marvel at the famed Bay of Naples, home to some of the most well-preserved Roman ruins in the world. For your last night on board, perhaps enjoy late-night music with new-found friends among the opulent décor of the Voyager Lounge.

Day 13

After breakfast, debark the ship and take the chance to explore Rome and its splendours, a city of wonderful art, ancient architecture and deep culture. Enjoy street performances at the Spanish Steps or simply people-watch in colourful Trastevere. Don't miss a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel, a tour of which can be organised via the ship, where panoramic views of city vistas await visitors willing to climb to the top. Enjoy a stroll around the city, not missing the famous Trevi Fountain, Coliseum, and Aventine Hill, before taking your transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
