Day by day itinerary

Day 1
Buenos Aires

Arrival of your international flight to Ezeiza International Airport, Buenos Aires, where you will be met according to your flight details and transferred to your hotel, the Sofitel Buenos Aires or similar hotel.

The day and evening are at your leisure.

Dinner tonight is on our own.

Day 2
Iguazú Falls National Park

Following breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the Domestic Airport to board your flight to Iguazú.

Upon arrival, you will be met by your local guide and then transferred to Iguazú Falls National Park. A buffet lunch will be served at La Selva Restaurant or similar shortly after your arrival.

Following lunch, enjoy a motorized boat cruise (zodiacs) which allows you to view the falls from water level and get close enough to feel the spray and energy created by this great mass of falling water. Along the way, your guide will explain all about the trees, birds, falls and more.

The name Iguazú means Great Waters in Guarani. This natural wonder is taller and twice as wide than Niagara Falls and combines 275 falls in a massive, magnificent cascade stretching for nearly 1.7 miles. Situated on the border between Argentina and Brazil, its waters pass over lush, sub-tropical greenery. One of the most breathtaking sights you may see during your tour is the fluttering of more than 700 species of butterflies that make this area their home.

After the zodiac tour, check-in at your hotel and enjoy some free time to relax before dinner.

Overnight at the Loi Suites or similar hotel

Day 3
Devil’s Throat and Buenos Aires

After breakfast at the hotel, check out & transfer by bus to Iguazú National Park to visit the impressive Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat), where the Iguazú River crashes down almost 80 metres forming many rainbows. You will reach this fantastic sight via a unique train ride - the Eco-Train - which travels on a 1000-meter footbridge from the train station to the Garganta del Diablo.

You will end your visit with a moderate walk through one of the circuits of the National Park on the Argentine Side. Along the way traverse over catwalks and view the observatories. Depending on your flight time, lunch will either be at a restaurant or a box lunch will be provided before your transfer to the Iguazú Airport.

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires you will be transferred to your hotel where you will be reunited with any stored luggage.

In the evening you are treated to a dinner and tango show.

Overnight at the Sofitel Buenos Aires or similar hotel

Day 4
Buenos Aires

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After checking out you will get acquainted with Buenos Aires on a half day sightseeing tour highlighting the city’s major neighborhoods and attractions. Among the points of interest, you will see are the Main Square Plaza de Mayo surrounded by the Casa Rosada (the Presidential Headquarters), the Cabildo (Colonial Town Hall) and the Cathedral. You will also drive to Caminito and see the colorful roads of La Boca, famous for its multi-color tin houses. Later drive through the elegant Barrio Norte on your way to the Recoleta Cemetery which is an above ground cemetery lined with mausoleums and statues. Finally, you will visit Palermo with its magnificent mansions and parks.

Your tour will end with a transfer to the pier to embark the ship.

Day 5

Laid-back Montevideo is home to nearly half of Uruguay’s population. The relatively small capital is the nation’s only major city, yet visitors do not come here in search of the hustle and bustle of a large metropolis. It is said that Montevideanos themselves travel to Buenos Aires and São Paulo when they crave big city excitement. As Uruguay’s cultural, political and economical center, the city boasts a good number of monuments, museums and impressive architecture.

Day 6
Punta Del Este

Spend the day enjoying this beautiful, chic beach resort, its marinas, museums and fascinating shops. Or venture into the equally picturesque countryside and visit a cattle station. Take a trip to Sea Wolves Island and view a colony of endangered sea lions and seals. Visit the 18th-century city of Maldonado with its many enchanting buildings, cathedral and lovely museum. Look for fine leather goods, jewelry and artwork. Excellent beef and seafood highlight the menus here.

Day 7
Rio Grande

Explore this lovely old Portuguese city, its gracious squares and beautiful churches. Visit the Museum of Sacred Art and the fascinating Oceanographic Museum. Or see the vast pampas and feel the gaucho life on a local estancia.

Day 8
At Sea

Day 9
Porto Belo

Discover the quaint fishing village charm and lively beach atmosphere of Porto Belo, tucked at the base of lush mountains on a sparkling emerald bay. Take a few moments to peruse the wharf shops before shuttling off to the main square in downtown Porto Belo. Look for unique Brazilian beachwear, jewelry and hand carved wooden art pieces. Enjoy a tour of the area. Then, visit Quatros Ilhas Beach to enjoy fresh seafood, shrimp, and the famous Caipirinha made from Brazil’s sugar cane liquor, cachaca at a beachside café. Relax to the soft whisper of the waves in this beach lover’s paradise.

Day 10

Journey inland to vibrant São Paulo and see its modern skyscrapers and monuments, and visit the beautiful art museum. Or explore charming Santos and its extraordinary Botanical Garden including an Orchidarium with over 100 flower species and an aviary alive with macaws, toucans and parrots. Take a scenic drive to Guaruja and visit the resort town's fascinating aquarium.

Day 11

Savor this gem of a historic town with its beautifully preserved Portuguese colonial architecture, charming narrow streets, imposing fort and exquisite churches. Enjoy a leisurely schooner cruise through this group of lush islands past quaint fishing villages and pristine beaches. Stop at a beach to swim, snorkel or just relax. Look for handmade clothing and local artwork. Indulge in fresh seafood at a seaside cafe.

Day 12
Ilha Grande

Some of Brazil's most gorgeous beaches and exotic rainforests can be found 120 miles south of Rio de Janeiro on the Ilha Grande. Ilha Grande boasts over 200 beaches and historically was a pirates hideaway. Enjoy exploring this beautiful island hiking its trails, kayaking, snorkeling, diving to spectacular sites or simply relaxing on its gorgeous beaches. Savor the dense Atlantic forest, the birds, flowers, iguanas, monkeys and myriad wildlife found in this protected reserve. Please be advised that due to the under-developed nature of this destination, organized tours are not available.

Day 13

The tiny fishing village of Búzios, just 105 miles from Rio de Janeiro, is considered one of the ten most beautiful spots in the world. The village burst into prominence when French actress Brigitte Bardot visited here in her heyday (there’s a statue of her looking out to sea on the Orla Bardot). Today, this once sleepy village is an international resort -- St. Tropez, with a unique Brazilian beat. Búzios offers some of South America’s most attractive beaches. Indeed, you could lounge on one magnificent beach each hour of the day, sipping a delicious caipirinhas of course.

Day 14
Rio De Janeiro

Debark and take your included flight to the UK, or if you have time, stay a few days.

There’s a little bit of Carnival celebrated here everyday. From its famous beaches to its iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer, Rio radiates an air of exuberance that is hard to find anywhere else. Make the scene on trendy Ipanema or take a cable car to the summit of Sugar Loaf Mountain and enjoy the amazing views. Sway your hips to the rhythm at a samba show or enjoy the tranquility of king Dom João VI’s Botanical Gardens and verdant Tijuca Forest.
