Day 1
Southampton

Today, avoid the stress of the airport as you make your way to Southampton to board Seven Seas Explorer. Settle into your suite accommodation and head to the upper deck to watch the ship sail away. Tonight, enjoy dinner in one of the many dining venues onboard – there's everything from mouthwatering steak at Prime 7 to Asian delights at Pacific Rim.

Day 2
Honfleur, France

Today you'll arrive into Honfleur, a picturesque port located where the Seine meets the English Channel. Dotted with picture-perfect slate-covered houses, it's a lovely place to take a stroll, among the streets that captured the attention of many Impressionist painters. From Honfleur, it's possible to take a tour to Paris, taking in the Champs-Elysées, the Louvre and the Arc de Triomph with an expert guide. Or, you might prefer to head into the countryside en route to Rouen, or the Benedictine Palace in Fécamp. Back onboard, enjoy live music or a show after another delicious dinner.

Day 3
St Peter Port, Guernsey

This morning you'll arrive at St. Peter Port, the capital and main port of Guernsey. Its steep, narrow streets and quaint buildings cling to the hillside, overlooking the water. It's a lovely place for a wander – lush gardens, crumbling castles and pretty manor houses offer plenty of sightseeing opportunities. Or, take a shoreside excursion around the island, from east coast to west and back. There's even a tour revealing landmarks linked to Guernsey's tumultuous World War II occupation. On your return to the ship, perhaps visit the Serene Spa & Wellness centre for a luxurious facial or massage.

Day 4
Brest, France

Today you'll port in Brest, in one of France's most picturesque natural harbours. Discover the town's rich maritime history with a visit to the naval base, and the National Navy Museum, housed in the medieval Château de Brest. Alternatively, visit Océanopolis, the only ocean discovery centre of its kind in Europe, filled with vast aquariums where visitors can interact with the marine life. Included tours here cover everything from the mythical coastline to a walking tour of Locronan, lauded as one of France’s most exquisite villages.

Day 5
La Rochelle, France

Nestled among white limestone cliffs, La Rochelle is your next port of call. Take a stroll along the bustling Quai Duperré, with views of the Tour de la Chaîne and Tour Saint-Nicholas, and perhaps dine on fresh seafood at one of several oceanfront restaurants. Look up to see the three medieval towers that once protected the port – the Four Sergeants Tower is a former prison, and you can see where the corsairs scrawled graffiti on the walls. In the city centre, a network of pedestrian-friendly streets reveal elegant 17th and 18th-century architecture, charming boutiques and hidden cafes.

Days 6-7
Bordeaux, France

Today, you'll arrive into wine-soaked Bordeaux, home to around 9,000 wine-producing châteaux, and 13,000 grape growers. Explore the nearby Médoc wine-growing region, browse the wine museum La Cité du Vin or walk though the cellars of the Chateau de Cognac – there are plenty of tours to choose from. And, you'll spend two days here, so there's plenty of time to see the sights. There's even the chance to visit the age-old village of Saint-Émilion, an ancient village designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Bilbao, Spain

The sleek modernity and historical significance of Bilbao are revealed simply by wandering through its streets. In the Old Quarter, medieval and neoclassical landmarks such as the Gothic Church of San Antón, the Cathedral of Santiago and Plaza Nueva are highlights. Meanwhile, the remarkable Guggenheim Museum is a marvel of modern design. Excursions departing from Bilbao include a visit to the Belle Époque San Sebastián and a tour of the beautifully maintained fortress of Castillo Concejuelo, in the heart of Basque country

Day 9
Gijon, Spain

In Gijon, beautiful beaches offer the chance for relaxation. Alternatively, tour one of several fascinating museums – the Campo Valdés Roman Baths are considered one of the most important Roman remains in northern Spain. Visit the aquarium, the botanical gardens or simply stroll through the streets of Cimavilla, the oldest part of Gijon. Alternatively, you might wish to take a cider-tasting tour, venture to nearby Oviedo or explore magnificent Leon, home to an abundance of stunning medieval landmarks. Back onboard, perhaps enjoy an intimate Italian meal at Sette Mari at La Veranda, paired with Tuscan wine.

Day 10
La Coruna, Spain

This morning you'll dock in La Coruna, a busy port on the Atlantic Ocean, and the site of the Roman Tower of Hercules – a lighthouse that has been in continuous operation for nearly 2,000 years. The city is also well-known for its characteristic glazed window balconies, called galerías. Here, you can walk in the footsteps of a young Picasso by visiting his former family home. Other tours include an in-depth look at Lugo’s architectural wonders, including the completely intact Roman Walls, and a walking tour of La Coruna itself, complete with tapas tasting.

Day 11
At Sea

Today, a sea day offers the chance for rest and relaxation. Make the most of the many amenities onboard, whether that's reading a book in the peaceful library or reclining by the pool. The Culinary Arts Kitchen offers cooking classes with the executive chefs, or you might prefer to work on your swing at the putting green. As always, at mealtimes you'll be spoilt for choice – perhaps you'll try a made-to-order burger and shake at the Pool Grill.

Saint-Malo, France

Your final stop before returning to the UK is Saint-Malo, a charming fortified town historically known for cod fishing and the transatlantic fur trade. Alternatively, explore the stunning medieval and Renaissance architecture of Dinan, one of the best-preserved villages in Brittany, best known for its impressive clock tower and picturesque half-timbered houses. Drive along the rugged Brittany coast and savor the stunning view of mystical Mont St. Michel before wandering through its steep winding streets and the mazelike abbey passages. Back onboard, spend your final night in style, enjoying a delicious multi-course dinner and drinks as the sun sets over the water.
