Day by day itinerary

Day 1
Fly UK to Montreal

Fly to Montreal via Toronto, arriving the same day. You will be met and transfered by private car to your 4-star hotel for a 2 night stay on a room only basis.

French-speaking, thoroughly romantic and exquisitely cultured, Montreal definitely warrants a pre- or post-cruise stay. The Old Port is a hub of entertainment, while the Museum of Fine Arts is revered for its collection of more than 30,000 objects. For a respite from the vibrant city, stroll the Montreal Botanical Garden, a draw since 1931.

Stay: Loews Vogue Hotel

Day 2

Enjoy a 3.5 hour city tour today

Discover Montreal's wide variety of sights in the largest French speaking city after Paris. You will stop to visit Old Montreal, Olympic Park, Mount Royal Park and Notre Dame Basilica. You will also see the following sites: Montreal Harbour, Chinatown, Bonsecours Market Building (the former City Hall), Place Jaques Cartier, Biodome, McGill University, Place Des Arts, Place Ville Marie, The Universite de Montreal, City Hall, Botanical Gardens & Insectarium, St Helen's Island and Casino and the Molson Centre.

Stay: Loews Vogue Hotel

Day 3

Check out of your hotel and take a private transfer to the port to embark the ship.

Day 4

Situated on the river along Rue des Ursulines, picturesque Trois-Rivières is Quebec’s second oldest city. It was devastated by a fire in 1908, and the city’s few remaining historic buildings can be found in the old city. The Ursulines Museum offers a glimpse at the heritage of the city and specifically the 300-year history of the Ursulines, an order of nuns dedicated to educating young girls. The culture of the region comes alive at the Quebec Museum of Folk Culture.

Day 5
Québec City

Surrounded by several miles of granite walls dating back hundreds of years, Quebec City’s fabulous Old Town exudes European character, exemplified in the iconic Château Frontenac. Another architectural gem is the fascinating Musée de la Civilisation, a treasure trove of items recreating the French-speaking city’s early days.

Day 6

Head to La Baie and tour the Musée du Fjord, admire the frescoes covering every nook and corner of barber and painter Arthur Villeneuve’s home, tour a goat farm or travel the Craftsman Road to see artisans in their element creating cheeses, glass-blowing and soap-making. Don’t miss a hike through Saguenay National Park, which cradles the dramatic fjord that has enchanted travelers for centuries.

Day 7
Cruising The Gulf Of St. Lawrence

Day 8
Corner Brook

Start by taking in the breathtaking view from the monument honoring Captain James Cook, the first to map the area in 1767. More history awaits you in the Corner Brook Museum and its marine artifacts, forestry exhibits and collections from aboriginal people.

Day 9

Just off the coast of Newfoundland, the islands of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon are France’s only territory in North America. The citizens take pride in keeping the French culture alive, and you will find French cuisine, reasonably priced wines and other goods. Tourism has begun to flourish here thanks to the mild climate and picturesque scenery. Explore the history and culture of the islands at the Arch Museum and Archives, the Heritage Museum and the Museum Archipelitude.

Day 10
St. John's

One of the oldest English-founded cities in North America, St. John’s is the perfect blend of small-town charm and big-city comforts. Wander down narrow streets lined with colorful row houses. Visit Quidi Vidi, a charming village-within-a-city that embodies the spirit of an old fishing port. The Rooms culture center, home to a museum, art gallery and archives, stands next to the twin clock towers of the impressive Basilica of St. John the Baptist.

Days 11-13
Cruising The Atlantic Ocean

Day 14
Cork (Cobh)

Cheerful Cork sprawls about the River Lee in one of Ireland's most stunning settings. Bridges crisscross the city leading to landmarks like St. Anne's Church and the Old City Gaol, where you'll see the 19th century prisoners' graffiti. Make time to kiss the Blarney Stone in Blarney Castle.

Day 15

Tour majestic St. Patrick’s Cathedral, where Jonathan Swift is buried, and stroll through lovely St. Stephen’s Green, a beautiful city park immortalized by James Joyce in Ulysses. The magnificently decorated Book of Kells is on display at the venerable Trinity College. For more secular pursuits, tour the Guinness Storehouse or the Jameson Distillery and learn the secrets to making great Irish beer and whiskey.

Day 16

Enjoy the beautiful Welsh countryside with its charming towns and farms and visit the imposing Caernarfon Castle begun by Edward I in 1283. This mighty fortress was a residence and seat of government as well as a military stronghold. The current Prince of Wales received his title here in 1969.

Day 17

Joined to the mainland of Dorset by narrow Chesil Beach, Portland is in the heart of England's dramatic Jurassic Coast, so called because its rock bed dates back 185 million years. The coastal cliffs and area's unique flora and fauna are awe-inspiring, the perfect complement to the town's rich history. Portland Castle overlooks the harbor and is one of Henry VIII's best-preserved coastal fortifications. Portland Bill Lighthouse is another landmark, literally, and has been guiding sailors for more than 300 years. You may also enjoy walking to the abandoned Tout Quarry, which has been turned into a delightful stone sculpture park.
