UK to Reykjavik
After enjoying your complimentary airport lounge access, fly out to Reykjavik, where you’ll be transferred and brought aboard the ultra-luxurious expedition ship Seabourn Venture. The friendly crew on board will show you to your suite, a relaxing home at sea with a private veranda, spacious bathroom, walk-in closet and comfortable living area. After settling in, explore the new ship and the many amenities on offer.

Westfjords & Vigur Island
This morning you’ll rise and enjoy breakfast with the Westfjords' stunning landscape on the horizon. A sparsely populated peninsula in the northwest of Iceland where tall mountains are cut by dozens of fjords. You’ll have the chance to explore the waters around Vigur Island by kayak, home to a variety of nesting birds and on occasion the illusive Arctic fox,. For a truly unique experience, speak to our specialists about booking a tour on a small submersible submarine and explore the underwater world of the island, like never before. In the afternoon, discover the history around Isafjordur, which plays host to the oldest house in Iceland, built in 1734, and is now part of the local museum.

Pearl of Eyjafjörður & Skjalfandi Bay
As the ship makes its way north, you’ll discover more picturesque landscapes and fjords along the way. This morning’s stop will explore the dreamy little island of Hrisey, which was once a hub for shark hunting, but now plays host to Europe’s largest breeding colonies of Arctic terns. This afternoon you’ll sail into Skjalfandi Bay, renowned for whale-watching, and the ship’s bow lounge offers a water-level seat for spotting a variety of marine life that frequent the bay.

Peaks of Seydisfjordur
Enjoy breakfast surrounded by the 1,000 metre peaks of Seydisfjordur, on the eastern coast of Iceland where waterfalls can be seen cascading into the sea below. Once the settlement of Norwegian fishermen, the small town is now home to up-and-coming artists and colourful Norwegian-style wooden houses. Head ashore to explore the town on a guided walking tour, discover the fjords by kayak or dive the wreck of El Grillo by submersible – all fantastic excursions available to book.

Papey island
Your final stop along the Icelandic coast, Papey island, is best explored by Kayak getting up close to the diverse wildlife that call this small but beautiful island home. Its windswept, grassy slopes and rocky sea cliffs host guillemots until mid-summer before the resident Atlantic puffins return until mid-September. A glimpse of a cute puffin with its mouth full of fish, will surely be a highlight of the day.

Day at sea
Every journey has some down time and a welcome day at sea provides ample time to enjoy the world-class facilities on board. Isle of Runde, a bird-watching paradise
Today you’ll have a chance to explore the beautiful Isle of Runde which is located south of Alesund and part of a myriad of small islands, and it’s the cliffs of the island that draw bird enthusiasts from around the world each summer, as over 500,000 species of birds inhabit the island, from Atlantic puffins and common guillemots to razorbills and northern gannets.

Viking heritage in Bronnoysund
Sitting on a narrow peninsula off the mainland, where waterways are dotted with a maze of small islands, the town of Bronnoysund and its Viking heritage date back to the 13th-century and is a classic example of Norwegian charm with colourful houses, quaint shops and friendly locals. Towering over the peninsula, Torghatten mountain and it’s hole pierced centre is an iconic landmark of the region. Enjoy an included hike to the summit, where stunning panoramic views over the coast await.

Lofoten & Trolljord
Enjoy breakfast and stunning views as the ship docks in Svolvaer, where you’ll witness the stunning beauty of Lofoten, where dramatic cliffs, mountains and fjords carve their way through the landscape. Whether you head out by kayak to explore the unique terrain or dive under the water to a shipwreck from 1982, you’ll surely discover something new. In the afternoon, you’ll make you way through the tight, 100 metre Fjord opening at Trollfjord, where steep cliffs give way to a majestic inner bowl. Enjoy the views from the open decks or optionally, head out with the expedition team aboard a zodiac for a closer inspection.

North Cape
Arriving in Norway’s North Cape, the island chain of Gjesvaestappen, a designated nature reserve, is a birdwatcher's paradise. The small islands welcome puffins, black-legged kittiwakes and razorbills to the grassy slopes and cliffs in impressive numbers. Make sure to book a zodiac excursion, where knowledgeable expedition guides with introduce you the many species that visit this area annually. Continuing on, you’ll arrive in the small fishing village of Skarsvag, which has claimed the title the world’s northernmost fishing village and is best viewed by air. Book a scenic helicopter tour, where you’ll witness the stunning coast and North Cape from a truly unique perspective.

Tromso to UK
This morning you’ll enjoy a final breakfast as you arrive into the northern town of Tromso. You’ll enjoy a scenic tour of the area, visiting the Polar museum, the Tromso Cable car and the impressive Arctic cathedral before being dropped off at the airport for your return flight home.
If you wish to experience the area in more detail, speak to our specialists about adding on a couple nights at a luxurious Tromso hotel.
