From wild coastlines and powder-white beaches to bird-sanctuary islands and tiny fishing villages, this is the perfect, luxury introduction to the history, wildlife and communities that make the UK's coastlines so fascinating. Explore with included shore excursions throughout, whether that's heading out on Zodiac trips with the expert Silversea Expedition Team to wild coastal walks among UNESCO-listed ruins. What's more, you'll return each day to the luxuries of the recently-refurbished Silver Wind, with everything from butler-served suites and fine wine-matched dining to onboard enrichment lectures on offer. To top it off, it's all bookended by a door-to-door chauffeur service to begin and end your trip in style.

Day by day itinerary

Days 1-2
Board Silver Wind in London

You'll begin your journey in style with a chauffeured drive to the port at Tower Bridge, from where Silversea cruises depart only every few years. On arrival, board Silver Wind and settle in to your ultra-spacious, butler-served suite – with nearly one crew member for every guest, you'll enjoy the ultimate in personalised service – before the first of your wine-matched dinners tonight in one of four dining venues, from authentic Italian at La Terrazza to seasonally-inspired dishes at La Dame. Day two affords you a full day to explore the endless delights of London, whether that's a tour of its most iconic landmarks, sampling worldwide cuisine in its buzzing markets or browsing its world-class museums.

Day 3
St Peter Port, Guernsey

After breakfast today, anchor in to the picturesque capital of Guernsey, St Peter Port. Highlights include the ancient Cornet Castle, walks along the rugged coastline and exploring the WWII La Valette Underground Museum. Fans of the novel The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society can even head out for a literary tour of La Bouvee where the book is set. Remember, all excursions are included and can be easily arranged directly from the ship.

Day 4
St Mary's and Tresco, Isles of Scilly

After breakfast you'll sail to the Isles of Scilly, home to rich wildlife and powder-white beaches that have earned it its accolade as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You'll have the chance to explore its two gems – St Mary's and Tresco – the former filled with viewpoints for watching Atlantic seals and puffins alongside hundreds of shipwrecks that scatter the shores. Experience the islands with a scenic walking tour of the Garrison as well as the chance to sample a glass of wine from England’s southernmost vineyard. Later, explore Tresco and the Abbey Garden, one of the UK’s most famous botanical gardens, with over 300 species of plant on display. Then, back on board, why not head to the Panorama Lounge for an enrichment lecture about the area's flora and fauna by Silversea's Expedition Team?

Day 5
Calf of Man, Isle of Man

Anchor in to the Calf of Man today, neighbour to the better-known Isle of Man. Explore with a tour of its ancient lighthouses that dot the rocky shoreline, interspersed with colonies of grey seals, sheep and birdlife. We'd highly recommend a private tour of the island, which is itself a bird sanctuary, which you'll discover by joining the Silversea Expedition Team on a birdwatching walk to spot up to 33 species of seabirds. Later, head to the pool deck to relax among the Jacuzzis and heated pools before heading to one of the ship's stylish bars for a pre-dinner aperitif, accompanied by live music.

Day 6
Iona and Lunga, Scotland

Enjoy a morning on the island of Iona, taking in its much-restored Abbey, a place of pilgrimage and peace where some 48 of Scotland’s kings are buried. Or, take a short walk to the highest point on Iona for spectacular views across the island and, on a clear day, to the Outer Hebrides. Then, after lunch on board, set foot on Lunga, home to an abundance of plants and birdlife, including hundreds of puffins – best viewed on a Zodiac trip with the Silversea Expedition Team.

Day 7
Lock Scavaig, Isle of Skye and Isle of Canna

Anchor in to the Isle of Skye today and Loch Skarvaig, a postcard-perfect landscape sheltered by rugged peaks and open moorlands. Explore the area with Zodiac cruises to spot seals and hundreds of bird species before heading to the nearby Isle of Canna, the island itself a bird sanctuary that was once home to monks, Norse settlers and Scottish groups, evident in the island's ancient stone churches, all of which are best explored on a private tour.

Day 8
St. Kilda and Boreray Island

Spend today exploring the distant and wild archipelago of St Kilda – a UNESCO World Heritage site. Depending on the weather, you’ll have the chance to take in its spectacular sea cliffs as well as the outlying stacs and islands, which are the remains of a volcanic crater, and provide ledges for thousands of nesting seabirds. You might even spot a minke whale playing on the swell. In the afternoon, explore remote Boreray Island, home to the area's eponymous wild sheep and huge flocks of seabirds who cling to the volcanic cliff faces. This evening, perhaps enjoy a thrilling night at the casino or onboard Show Lounge, where everything from classical soloist performances to feature films are on offer.

Day 9
Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, Scotland

Sail to Kirkwall, the capital of the Orkney Islands, today, with its Viking influence and World War history making for fascinating stops on a tour of the island. Alternatively, explore the area's windswept beaches and sea caves with a scenic coastal walk – accompanied by expert photographers – or embark on a scenic coach ride through Orkney's rolling countryside. Be sure to pause at the St. Magnus Cathedral – Britain's northernmost cathedral – which took 300 years to complete. You may also like to sample the local distilleries for a taste of smoky whisky, or explore Europe's best-preserved Stone Age Village at the World Heritage-listed Skara Brae for an insight into prehistoric life, guided by a local archaeologist.

Day 10
Isle of May and St Abbs, Scotland

The Isle of May is your next stop today, a National Nature Reserve used by biologists that's a breeding ground for over 125,000 seabirds, from puffins and shags to razorbills and Arctic terns. Head out with the Expedition Team to spot the breeding seabirds and see Scotland's oldest lighthouse before heading to St Abbs, a tiny village that's home to local fishing communities along its rugged coastline, exploring with coastal walks and boat trips.

Day 11
Lindisfarne and Farne Islands

The tiny islands of Lindisfarne and Farne – the latter a favourite of naturalist David Attenborough – are your next stop today. Known as Holy Island, Lindisfarne was once a destination for religious pilgrims, home to Viking-era stone ruins at Lindisfarne Priory and the 16th-century Lindisfarne Castle. Then, swap it all for the Farne Islands, a tiny archipelago formed of volcanic rock that's home to hundreds of puffins and the remains of historic buildings such as stone lookout towers and ancient lighthouses. Head out on Zodiacs to spot more the breeding seabirds – of which there are over 100,000 – as well as thousands of grey seals and Atlantic puffins.

Day 12
At sea

Take advantage of a full day at sea today to rest and recharge, perhaps heading to the luxury spa for an indulgent massage or facial before working off any excess at the fitness centre or browsing the luxury shopping boutique. Then, why not head to The Bar for a pre-dinner cocktail accompanied by a live band with new-found friends before your final, gourmet dinner tonight.
