Location
Situated midway between mountains and sea the Santa Fe is just 10 minutes from the popular coastal city of Coffs Harbour. Even closer (around 3 minutes) is beautiful Sapphire Beach with views to the Solitary Islands; whale watching is a must (in season). Further inland but all within an hour’s drive are a plethora of activities for the wild-at-heart including white-water rafting, mountain biking, abseiling and kayaking. Those keen on wildlife can take a bush walk through the protected rainforests on the Dorrigo Plateau.
Accommodation
Each of the three guest suites is very private, with en suite facilities and king or queen beds. Decked areas with table and chairs allow for al fresco relaxation overlooking the lagoon or gardens; one room even has a hot tub on the balcony. Tastefully decorated with a Mexican twist, the aptly named suites are air-conditioned and come equipped with fridge, LCD TV/DVD/CD, tea and coffee making facilities and pool towels.
Dining
Extravagant breakfasts are served on the terrace overlooking the lagoon or by the fireplace in the guests lounge during the winter months. Different every day, the hosts take great pride in serving up daily specials alongside fresh fruit and the usual breakfast fayre. A well-equipped BBQ station is provided so guests can rustle up their own Aussie banquets. For those preferring not to self-cater a small selection of restaurants and taverns can be found 2.5km away and further afield on the “Jetty Strip” a wider range of quality restaurants provide something for everyone.
Facilities
Set amid six acres of lush gardens, the Santa Fe is ideal for nature lovers. There is an abundance of bird life to appreciate and a stroll around the award-winning gardens, lagoons and waterfalls, perhaps stopping to feed the Koi fish, will calm the weariest of travellers. A dip in the pool, or an afternoon spent relaxing with a book in a hammock, are welcome distractions after a long drive. During the winter months the guest lounge, complete with open fireplace and comfortable leather furniture, is a cosy place to spend some quiet time enjoying a drink or playing a board game.
