Found within World Heritage Site iSimangaliso Wetland Park, Rocktail Beach Camp is situated amongst wetlands, sandy beaches, woodlands and forested dunes, midway between Kosi Bay and Sodwana Bay. Approximate driving time from Richards Bay Airport is five hours, with a private airstrip located 10 minutes from camp. Surrounded by fascinating and beautiful wildlife, days can be spent relaxing along the empty beaches or exploring surrounding national reserves.
Set in pristine natural surroundings, Rocktail Beach Camp is the ideal getaway for all, whether it is a romantic couples retreat, or a spacious family-friendly escape, everyone is taken care of in the stylish tented suites. The 17 tented suites feature en-suite facilities and roof fans and decks, seven of which are family units, and the intimate honeymoon suite boasts ocean and forest views.
Ensuring a true, South African experience, dining is buffet style and home cooked local cuisine.
Complimentary activities include snorkelling at Lala Nek, trips to Lake Sibaya, guided trails through the beach and forest and swimming, Black Rock excursions and cultural visits such as Zulu Dancing involve an additional charge. The camp is renowned for its water activities, and fantastic diving and snorkelling facilities. A large wrap around veranda and raised viewing deck provides extensive views over the ocean, an excellent spot for birding, or spotting the whales and dolphins offshore, with the main lodge featuring a swimming pool, children’s playroom, curio shop and wine cellar.
