This art nouveau masterpiece is one of Budapest’s finest hotels. A restored early-20th-century palace, it overlooks the famous Chain Bridge on the banks of the mighty Danube.
Inside, you’ll be met with lobby’s arching glass roof, complete with stained-glass panels, which looks down on an ornate Preciosa chandelier and a gleaming marble floor. Further on, great staircases lead up to rooms that are every bit as impressive as the public areas. Expect muted tones and tasteful Art-Deco touches combined with views over the surrounding streets or the famous Budapest riverfront. Upgrade to a suite for extra space and floor-to-ceiling windows.
The luxurious spa is a real highlight, with its indulgent array of signature treatments – the Hungarian moor mud treatment is not to be missed. For further relaxation, take a dip in the indoor, infinity-edge pool. And, if all that wasn’t enough, guests can enjoy fast-track entry to the city’s legendary geothermal baths.
Lastly, the dining is superb, with the Kollázs Brasserie & Bar offering delicious all-day dining with plenty of European flair. There’s also the Bar & Lobby Lounge, set beneath a glass cupola in the historic Peacock Passage, where guests can enjoy light bites and a selection of martinis and fine wines.
