Port Elizabeth offers travellers in South Africa a calm and relaxing option during their stay, it has been suggested.
Writing for the Guardian, editor of the Weekend Post Brett Adkins said his hometown is a "remarkably stress-free" location to experience.
He remarked: "There can be few places in the world where you can live in a major city and get from the airport to its sun-kissed beaches … in quite literally five minutes."
According to the journalist, some of his favourite features of the area are that it has remarkably clean air and a range of top-quality seaside attractions.
Those who like to spend their time by the ocean should visit Kings Beach, he added, which is "ideal" for anyone looking to paddle in the water safely.
People were also advised to take the one-mile stroll along the shore up to the harbour wall.
Authors of the 2009 South Africa Handbook Francisca Kellett and Lizzie Williams recently praised Port Elizabeth in a Daily Telegraph article because of its luxurious wild game reserves.
