Day by day itinerary

Days 1-3
Nice and Monte Carlo

Enjoy complementary lounge access before flying to Nice where you will be met by a private transfer which will  take you to your accommodation; Le Negresco, complete with works by Dali and Moretti mixing with rare antiques and historical paintings. This pink and white palace complete with domed tower is a National Historic Monument and faces the Bay of Angels, with balconies overlooking the sparkling sea. The hotel is your base for three nights to explore Nice, travel by train to Villefranche or nearby Monaco to mix with the rich and famous. Perhaps take a tour to the hilltop village of Eze, or soak up some art at the nearby museums such as Musée Matisse and Musée National Marc Chagall.

Day 4
Saint-Paul-de-Vence

Pick up your car and head west on the short drive to Saint-Paul-de-Vence, one of the the oldest medieval towns on the French Riviera and well known for its modern and contemporary art museums and galleries. Set on a hilltop and overlooking the surrounding countryside to the sea beyond, the town has played host to the likes of Chagall and Picasso. The hotel is centrally located within a short cobbled walk of cafes, restaurants and art galleries.

Day 5
Antibes

This morning descend back down towards the coast making the short drive to Antibes, stop and explore the old town enclosed by 16th-century ramparts with its star-shaped Fort Carré, and the impressive nearby Musée Picasso overlooking luxury yachts moored at the Port Vauban marina. After exploring continue to the forested Cap d'Antibes peninsula where your chic beachfront resort awaits you.

Day 6
Cannes and Fréjus

After a relaxing beachfront breakfast make the short drive from Antibes to Cannes, take time to explore the city famed for its international film festival. Take a walk along Boulevard de la Croisette, curving along the coast, and lined with sandy beaches, upmarket boutiques and palatial hotels. It's also home to the Palais des Festivals et des Congres, a modern building complete with red carpet and Cannes' walk of fame.

From Cannes perhaps continue to the port town of Fréjus. Built on a sandstone buttress of the Esterel mountains, overlooking the Argens and Reyran valleys, it has an appearance of a small Provencal town, complete with Roman ruins including an amphitheatre and aqueduct, or continue to your base for the next two nights - Saint-Tropez.

Day 7
Saint Tropez

After breakfast, leave the quiet neighbourhood of Sainte-Anne, and make the short walk into the centre of Saint-Tropez, long popular with artists, the town attracted the international "jet set" in the 1960s, and remains known for its beaches and nightlife.

Wander around the cobblestoned La Ponche quarter with its past as a fishing village, although yachts now outnumber fishing boats in the Old Port. Relax on the nearby beautiful beach of Pampelonne in Ramatuelle before returning to the hotel to enjoy the facilities which include spa treatments and fine dining for your last night on the Cote d'Azur.

Day 8
Departure

This morning start the drive back to Nice, perhaps break the journey at the town of Cagnes-sur-Mer, return your hire car and catch your flight home.
