Phu Quoc is Vietnam's largest outlying island, located off the south-west coast in the Gulf of Thailand. It's largely untouched by tourism although just a short flight from Ho Chi Minh City, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a bit of beach time.
A small archipelago of just 14 islands situated more than 100 miles from the mainland, Con Dao was formerly a key trading post, established by the East India Trading Company in the 1700s.
Chau Doc is a bustling centre and important trading post for the agricultural business of the Mekong.
