Day by day itinerary
UK to Mahe
Fly direct to Mahe from London, arriving the following day
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles
Here, in the Indian Ocean, where exotic trees edge beaches of fine white sand, is Mahé. Coconut plantations surround its majestic granite peaks rising to 3,000 feet. Mahé was uninhabited until the French arrived in 1768, and this culture remains despite over 180 years of British rule. The true magnificence of the Seychelles lies beyond city limits, as you explore these islands' stunning natural beauty.
Located in the south of Mahe island, Four Seasons Resort Seychelles is nestled into the hillside overlooking Petite Anse Bay, which is often referred to as one of the most beautiful in the Seychelles. With an award-winning hilltop spa, unique dining experiences and luxuriously appointed treehouse style villas, the Resort is a haven for the ultimate Seychelles retreat, and a perfect pre-cruise stay before your cruise with Crystal Esprit.
Enjoy a 2-night stay in a Garden View Villa on a half-board basis.
Eden Island Marina & Saint Anne Island
Check out of the Four Season and take your included transfer to the port to embark Crystal Esprit. That evening sail for St Anne Island, just an hour away, where you will moor overnight.
Palm trees shade idyllic sandy beaches here, as cinnamon grows wild on verdant hillsides and sea turtles nose around their favourite nesting site. Once a commercial whaling outpost and later a World War II gun battery, St. Anne Island is today a place of peace and tranquility with abundant wildlife protected by the St. Anne Marine National Park.
St Anne Island, Cousin Island & Praslin Island
Sail away from St Anne Island just before lunch, and arrive at Cousin Island around 2pm.
Cousin Island is a green ink-dot in the Indian Ocean. Here, birds rule the roost. Declared a special reserve in 1975, the island is the last holdout for the Seychelles warbler, a bird driven nearly to extinction - today they number some 3,000, a tribute to conservation. As you might expect from a haven for winged creatures, Cousin Island also is a paradise for nature-loving humans, with dense woodland, a rocky southern coast and sandy beaches encircling almost the entire isle.
Depart Cousin Island and 6pm and sail to the Praslin, arriving an hour later. Praslin is the second-largest island in the Seychelles. First settled as a hideaway by pirates and Arab merchants, the island's original name, Isle de Palmes, bears testament to its reputation as home of the Vallée de Mai UNESCO World Heritage Site: the only place in the world where the famous Coco de Mer, the world's heaviest nut, grows abundantly in the wild. Praslin's endemic palm forests shelter many rare species, and the island is a major bird-watching destination. Surrounded by a coral reef, majestic bays, and gorgeous beaches, Praslin is much quieter and less developed than Mahé. With few real "sights," the pleasures of Praslin largely involve relaxing in or exploring its stunning beaches and fantastical forests.
La Digue Island & Curieuse Island
Arrive at La Digue Island for a full days stay, sailing at 6pm. This slice of heaven defines quintessential island life, nestled on the coast of Silhouette Island and beckoning visitors to its shores with turquoise-emerald waters. Days filled with beachside adventures and jungle trails give way to festive evenings along the sand. The tree-lined roads of La Passe are populated with more bicycles than motorized vehicles, accenting the unhurried pace of life here.
Arrive into Curieuse Island for an overnight stay. Hundreds of giant hump-head parrotfish swim the harbor’s waters while beyond native coco de mer palms and low-slung branches of giant takamaka trees line sandy beaches. Curieuse Island is known for its giant tortoises, native to the Seychelles and once nearly extinct. Today, thanks to conservation efforts, tortoises roam freely in the lush forests.
Crystal voluntourism adventures - reforestation program on Curieuse Island
As part of Crystal’s “You care. We care.” Program, we are pleased to offer this complimentary, volunteer-focused excursion that gives you the opportunity to witness and be a part of one the greatest achievements of wildlife conservation in the world.
Board your zodiac and prepare yourself for an invigorating excursion that is sure to enhance your experience on Curieuse Island. Your visit will begin with a stop to the safe haven for Aldabra Giant Tortoises, where you will enjoy getting a closer look of these magnificent creatures.
Along the way you will learn about the unique ecosystem that embodies Curieuse Island and how your time and contribution will be helping this pristine ecosystem remain intact. Under the guidance of the island’s reforestation team, you will begin planting trees and plants that are endemic to the island.
Next, you will make your way to Anse Josee Beach where you will enjoy some leisure time after your great involvement of aiding wildlife conservation.
Concluding your Crystal Voluntourism Adventure, return to your Crystal yacht with a better understanding of the ecosystem in Curieuse and the people who care deeply about its preservation.
Depart Curieuse Island at breakfast time, arriving to Aride Island just 60 minutes later. As one of the most important seabird habitats in the Indian Ocean, if not the world, Aride is home to more breeding species than on any other island in Seychelles: 18 native birds, including five found only in the archipelago, reproduce on this tiny, eyelash of an isle. While its bird population is vast, Aride itself is petite, just a mile long and half a mile wide. Its human population is even smaller: only rangers, conservation officers and a few volunteers live here.
After lunch Crystal Esprit will cruise by Big Sister. Situated east of the larger island of Praslin, the isles of Big Sister, Felicite and Marianne are petite gems in the string of 115 jewels that make up the Seychelles archipelago. Only a few of these Indian Ocean islands are inhabited, leaving a delicate (and gorgeous) ecosystem of tropical flora, time-worn rocks and pristine beaches largely undisturbed. Naturally, you will step ashore on some islands to explore their treasures; other times, you will sail past and amid these granitic outposts to take in the scenery from your Crystal yacht. Fix your eye and camera on the turquoise waters and lushly carpeted mountains of these splendid islands, ranked among the best in the world for diving, snorkeling, beach combing and simply leaving the rest of the world behind.
Mahé Victoria Harbor and Eden Island Marina
Victoria Harbor is the capital city of the Seychelles, and lies on Mahé, the largest of the 115 islands. It is not boastful about its importance to the island’s cultural and administrative center, as its mere two dozen avenues are cozy and inviting, backing up against steep mountains and bustling with cafés and colorful architecture. Visit the Botanical Gardens for a glimpse into the lush fauna that cloaks the island, and venture from Victoria in search of the Seychelles natural splendor.
Depart from Victoria in the afternoon and sail to Eden, fro an overnight stay on board.
Debark the following morning and take your included transfer to the hotel for 1-night stay post cruise, before flying back to the UK
