Day by day itinerary

Day 1
UK to Rome

After enjoying your VIP airport lounge, fly direct to Rome where you will be met and transferred by private car to your hotel for 2 nights accommodation at the 4-star Dei Mellini.  Located in the heart of Rome on the right bank of the Tiber River on a quiet and peaceful street between the Spanish Steps and St. Peter's Basilica. The Hotel Dei Mellini is the ideal starting point from which to explore the marvels of the 'Eternal City'

Once settled into your room, enjoy a small-group evening food and wine walking tour. This tour will take you on a unique, interactive journey of the wines and foods of Italy as you wander down picturesque streets whilst viewing some of Rome’s most splendid sites. This unforgettable evening is both a progressive dinner and an entree into Italian wines and wine and food pairing techniques. Leading you on this gastronomical journey is your very entertaining host, Marco Lori, a Master Sommelier – one of only 100 in the whole of Italy.

Day 2
Rome

Relax in the hotel or venture out on your own to discover the city.Contact us for details of private excursions and other bespoke touring options.

Steeped in 2,500 years of history, Rome was for many centuries the centre of Western civilization. It was both the focal point of the Roman Empire and of Christendom. Landmarks such as the Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, Vatican, Sistine Chapel and Spanish Steps are reminders of the legacy of its rich past.

Day 3
Rome/Civitavecchia, Italy

Check out of your hotel and take your private car to the port to embark Crystal Serenity.

Civitavecchia was founded by Emperor Trajan in the 2nd century. Today this port is noted for its fine seafood and attractive monuments and is located 90 minutes away from Rome.

Day 4
Naples, Italy

Naples, the centre of southern Italian commerce, is located on the scenic Bay of Naples. View a moment frozen in time at the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum, ancient cities buried by an eruption of nearby Mt. Vesuvius.

Day 5
Sicily/Catania, Italy

On a fertile plain surrounded by mountain slopes and the sea, Catania, the economic center of Sicily's richest area is nestled snugly in a hollow. Once an important Greek and Roman colony, it is now a thriving commercial and industrial center. Though the city sometimes appears chaotic, it retains a certain beauty in the graceful elegance of its old buildings. Above the city rises Europe's largest volcano, mighty Mt. Etna. North, along the coast, picturesque Taormina beckons one and all.

Day 8
Ashdod, Israel

A tidy planned community built on golden dunes, Ashdod is southern Israel's only Mediterranean harbor. Yet this new city has fabulously ancient roots: Ashdod is mentioned in the Old Testament, and archaeologists have found ruins almost 4,000 years old. This is the doorway to the historic treasures of Jerusalem, and the worldly pleasures of Tel Aviv.

Optional excursions today include trips to Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth & the Sea of Galilee.

Days 9-10
Haifa, Israel

Haifa is Hebrew for "beautiful coast," and the shining coastline of Israel's largest Mediterranean port lives up to its name. But even more impressive are the slopes of Mt. Carmel, on which much of the city lies. Travel through the gorgeous villas and resort hotels to the summit for spectacular views of the city's many gardens, and striking Haifa Bay.

Optional excursions today include trips to Zippori: The City of Mosaics, Nazareth & the Sea of Galilee.

Day 11
Limassol, Cyprus

The wine flows freely in Limassol, and so does the festive atmosphere. The center of Cyprus' wine industry, Limassol is home to a bustling bar and restaurant scene, as well as numerous wineries that are open for tours and tastings. The city seems to be engaged in constant celebration, staging elaborate festivals throughout the year. For those who would rather revel in good buys, the expansive waterfront promenade and nearby streets present shoppers with a dizzying array of choices, from traditional, handmade goods to expensive designer labels. Limassol also offers quieter pleasures, including museums, art galleries, and lush municipal gardens.

Day 12
Paphos, Cyprus

Steeped in mythological history, Paphos offers an abundance of architectural wonders. In fact, the entire city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Some of the treasures not to be missed are the spectacular mosaics unearthed in the House of Dionysus, charming Omodos Village and the solid rock catacombs of the Tombs of the Kings. Paphos is perhaps best known as the birthplace of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love. Her spirit lives on in the ancient ruins and temples, as well as the modern harbor and sun-splashed beaches where love is always in the air. Once you have discovered the sites beyond Paphos, you will find the palm-lined waterfront promenade most inviting for a stroll.

Days 13-14
Cruising the Mediterranean sea

Enjoy your day on board the ship.

Day 15
Valletta, Malta

The island nation of Malta is a treasure trove of cultures. Valletta, its fortified main city, rises dramatically from the water. This "City of Knights," a monument to the past, was founded in 1566 by the Grand Master of the Knights of St. John. Sights not to be missed include the Magisterial Palace and St. John's Cathedral, which is lavishly decorated with the coats of arms and banners of the crusading knights. Beyond Valletta, the countryside, although austere and rocky, has a special charm. Malta provides an enduring fascination for all visitors.

Day 16

Enjoy your day on board the ship.
