Day 1
Depart UK

Start your holiday in style with included airport lounge access before your overnight flight to Mauritius.

Days 2-3
Mauritius

On arrival, you'll be met and transferred to your luxury, beachfront hotel. Check in and look forward to two blissful days of sun-kissed relaxation as you enjoy the sugar-white sands of some of the world's idyllic beaches. Or, take the chance to explore, heading out to explore uninhabited islets, dive or snorkel among pristine coral reefs or head inland for rainforest hikes to remote waterfalls. Whatever you choose, it's a wonderfully relaxing start to what is sure to be a truly unforgettable adventure.

Day 4
Depart Mauritius

You'll enjoy another day exploring the island before boarding Golden Horizon in the early afternoon, setting sail in the early evening. Seek out the hidden treasures of this tropical paradise from vast lagoons to long stretches of white-sand beaches, from rolling sugar cane fields to emerald forests covering the slopes of towering peaks. Popular spots include the resort town of Flic-en-Flac on the west coast, the beaches in the shadow of Le Morne Mountain in the southwest and lively Grand Baie in the island's northwest corner. For a slice of culture head to Port Louis, the island's capital. With buzzing markets and bustling streets, it's the perfect place to feel like an islander and try mouth-watering street food created with nothing but locally grown produce.

Day 5
La Reunion

Arrive in La Reunion early morning and depart early evening. Arriving on the volcanic island of La Réunion is like stepping onto the set of Jurassic Park. There are deep cirques and ravines cloaked in dense green forests, towering waterfalls tumbling down cliff sides, cloud-covered mountain summits and steaming lava vents. The best view of this French outposts natural beauty is a birds-eye view. You can hop on board a helicopter and dip into deep ravines, soar over lava fields and hover above the jaw-dropping Indian Ocean coastline. Down on terra firma, follow paths across frozen-in-time lava flows, gaze at the worlds second most active volcanoes and head out on 4x4 adventures into the islands UNESCO-listed interior.

Day 6
At sea

Sailing to Taomasina, you'll have two full days at sea – plenty of time to make the most of your ship's facilities, from the gym to the spa to expert lectures on the history, geography and wildlife of your next destination. Be sure to embrace life onboard the world's largest sailing ship, maybe even taking the wheel to feel the force of the winds and currents as you're carried west towards the Madagascan coast.

Toamasina, Madagascar

Arrive in Toamasina early morning and depart early evening. This busy port city, located on Madagascar's east coast, is the gateway to vast rainforests, sweeping beaches and coffee, vanilla and coconut plantations. Wander along the city's grand tree-lined boulevards and past tumble-down colonial buildings, browse the fruit, vegetables and spices on sale at the vibrant Bazary Be, or stroll in the shade of a banyan tree in the once-great park of Place Bien Aimé.

Day 9
Antisiranana, Madagascar

Arrive in Antisiranana early morning and dock overnight. The lively port town of Antsiranana (known as Diego Suarez until 1975) has wide streets lined with historic buildings, quality restaurants and a buzzing craft market. The natural setting of this busy settlement is spectacular; it sits at the edge of a huge horseshoe bay with the striking island of Nosy Longo at its heart.

Day 10
Antisiranana

Antisiranana is a great departure point for Amber Mountain Park where you can hike through the rainforest in search of waterfalls, crater lakes, lemurs and other endemic flora and fauna. You can also head out of town to see the other-worldly rock formations known as the Tsingy of Ankarana and the traditional fishing village of Ramena with its breath-taking coral beach. Depart Antisiranana this evening.

Day 11
Nosy Be, Madagascar

Arrive in Nosy Be early morning and dock overnight. Nosy Be is Madagascar's top beach destination. Its part of a group of islands off the northwest coast where you'll also find Nosy Komba (lemur island), where giant baobab trees and red limestone rocks dot the lemur-inhabited landscape, and Nosy Sakatia with its cascading waterfalls, tropical forest and rich coral reefs.

Day 12
Nosy Be

Nosy Be is everything you'd imagine an Indian Ocean paradise to be, with its glass-clear seas and white-sand beaches. It's heaven for watersports enthusiasts who can sail, dive, snorkel and swim to their heart's content. But its not just about the coastline  theres also Parc National Lokobe, home to a population of black lemur, and Mont Passot  the highest point on the island.

Enjoy another day at sea as you sail to Moroni, the capital of the Union of Comoros, a volcanic archipelago off Africa's east coast.

Day 14
Moroni, Comoros

You'll head far off the regular tourist track with a visit to the Comoros archipelago, an island nation located between northern Madagascar and mainland Africa. Moroni is the sovereign state's capital and is set on the west coast of the largest island, Ngazidja (also known as Grand Comore). You can spend hours getting lost in the maze of slender lanes and alleyways of the historic Medina, the old Arabic town with its beautiful wooden doors, quaint shops and old meeting places. Alternatively, head to the lively Volo Volo Market for an insight into city life and to taste of local street food, stop by historic mosques and watch life unfold out on the harbour.

Enjoy a day at sea as you sail to Dar es Salaam, the capital of Tanzania and the final port on your voyage.

Depart Dar es Salaam

Arrive in Dar es Salaam this morning and disembark the ship. You'll then transfer to the airport for your overnight flight home. If you'd like to extend your stay, our specialists can tailor your a Tanzania safari, or perhaps a beach break on the spice island of Zanzibar.
