Day 1 - Yichang
Arrive Yichang and embark the MS Yangzi Explorer. The ship will set sail on its upstream course through the Three Gorges region.
Day 2 - Xiling Gorge/The Three Gorges Dam Project
Passing through the eastern part of the Xiling Gorge the ship docks for a visit to the Three Gorges Dam Project, the largest dam construction project on earth. Continue through the western part of Xiling Gorge where the river widens at Yellow Ox Gorge.
DAY 3 - Shennong Stream/Wu Gorge/ Qutang Gorge
Reach Badong, a bustling river port which lies at the confluence of the Yangtze and the Shennong Xi. Disembark and board a local longboat poled by Tujia boatmen - traditional mariners of the great junks. The scenery is unrivalled anywhere along the middle course of the Yangtze River - crystalline waters, rich forests and towering rock formations, unchanged for thousands of years. Rejoin your ship and spend the rest of the day sailing through the last two gorges, the Wu Gorge and the Qutang Gorge.
DAY 4 - Fengdu
Arrive at Fengdu and spend time exploring this charming river village known as the ’Ghost City’, noted for its elaborate Daoist temple and bustling markets. Your visit to Fengdu will give you a great insight into real life in rural China.
DAY 5 - Chongqing
Arrive Chongqing where your cruise ends. Disembark after breakfast.
