Hidden in the white sands of Cape Range National Park on the shores of the Indian Ocean is the exclusive Sal Salis, a luxury tented camp overlooking world famous Ningaloo Reef. This truly is where the luxury outback living meets world famous reef wonderland. A mere 9 wilderness tents are located scattered amongst the sand providing an exclusive environment with which to explore this incredibly unique natural wonderland.
Sal Salis safari tented accommodation exudes ‘Wild Bush Luxury’ style and comfort. Designed to expose you to the sights and sounds outside your tent but with all the modern sleeping luxuries of a 5 star resort.
Offering uninterrupted views of the coral coast, the main camp building has been raised to sit above the sand and coastal scrub. From here, dinner is hosted against a back-drop of brightly coloured sunsets & breathtaking seaside views, as the kangaroos and wallaroos appear from the bush for their evening graze. Sumptuous contemporary Australian cuisine with hints of bush flavour and native produce is created fresh daily by the resident chef.
A self service bar and open lounge area is available throughout the day, equipped with a reference library, it provides a great spot to relax from the heat of day or a quiet sundowner whilst taking in the mesmerizing surrounds.
The coral reef literally on your doorstep and trained resort guides at the ready, excited about sharing their backyard with you, you’re perfectly positioned to uncover this wilderness wonderland. Home to over 500 species of fish, 250 coral species and 600 species of mollusc. It is also a major breeding area for Hawksbill, Green and Loggerhead Turtles, which are seen daily in front of the camp.
Known as one of the best places on earth to see and swim with Whale Sharks and Manta Rays (April to July).
The camp has been designed to operate in tune with the fragile environment of Cape Range National Park and as such abides by strict principles of minimal impact and sustainability. All of power is solar generated, each en suite bathroom has a natureloo (marketing jargon for state of the art composting loos!), water usage is very carefully managed and no waste material escapes into the surrounding ecosystem. Native herb soaps and ecologically sound shampoos are provided. The tents are spacious and naturally comfortable - they are not intended to be 5 star hotel rooms in the bush so do not offer TVs, telephones, minibars or other modern appliances.
