The Wexas Travel Foundation, the non-profit division of Wexas established in 2007 to raise money for environmental and community-based charities Cool earth and Africa Foundation, is now a registered charity in its own right. “There are considerable benefits to being recognised as a charity,” said Pete Mathers, Chair and Trustee of The Wexas Travel Foundation. “For starters we have been able to apply for Gift Aid, a simple way for us to increase the value of donations received from UK taxpayers. Because charities are exempt from tax, we can claim back 25p for every £1 donation, instantly boosting the value of donations by a quarter.” To make it easier to donate, the Foundation has also registered with JustGiving, a simple, safe and secure way to ensure that 100% of your money goes straight to the Foundation, and the preferred route for more than 8,000 member charities. Donations can be made securely online, with JustGiving automatically reclaiming Gift Aid from the government on your behalf. To donate, visit www. justgiving.com/Wexas/Donate. The Wexas Travel Foundation is currently raising money to help Africa Foundation build a much-needed classroom in an under-resourced school in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and Cool earth protect 150 acres of endangered rainforest in Ecuador and Brazil.
