Finnair will become the only European airline to offer a direct flight Vietnam when it begins flying a direct service between Helsinki and Hanoi in the summer of 2013.
Starting on 14 June, Finnair will begin a service to Hanoi from its hub in Helsinki with three flights per week. From Helsinki, Finnair offers connections to more than 60 European destinations.
The flights will operate during the summer season, which lasts until 27 October.
"We are delighted to be able add Hanoi as our 12th destination in Asia," says Finnair CEO Mika Vehviläinen.
Hanoi is noted for its historic Old Quarter, French colonial architecture, and pilgrimage site Chua Huong, a network of Buddhist temples and shrines carved out of the limestone hills and tropical forests around Huong Mountain.
Hanoi is also a jumping off point for Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its thousands of limestone isles.
