The Chen Sea Resort & Spa comprises 36 intimate villas and is located in a beachside setting on the island of Phu Quoc.
The resort features a spa, ocean-facing swimming pool and tennis courts, with Phu Quoc's fishing heritage reflected in the selection of fresh seafood dishes on offer at the seafront Il Ristorante.
President of Centara Hotels & Resorts, Gerd Steeb, said: "We are very pleased and proud to be announcing the addition of Chen Sea Resort & Spa, and we believe Vietnam holds immense tourism potential for the future."
A unique feature of the resort is the fact that 12 of the large pool and spa villas were originally traditional timber houses in the Vietnamese port city of Hoi An, before they were shipped to the island and rebuilt as luxury holiday accommodation.
"Chen Sea Resort & Spa is a superb addition to our Centara Boutique Collection brand, fitting in perfectly with the concept designed for cosmopolitan travellers who prefer a more individual style of holiday," says Chris Bailey, senior vice president for Centara Hotels & Resorts.
"Phu Quoc is growing quickly as a premier Vietnamese beach destination, and the resort offers both seclusion and convenience, as the local airport is only 15 minutes away."
The resort has a 22ft sailing boat and a speedboat available for exploring the coastline. Diving trips can be arranged on-site, while windsurfing, kayaking and snorkeling are all readily available to guests.
Centara Hotels & Resorts is Thailand's largest operator of hotels, with 37 properties within the kingdom, and a further nine in the Maldives, Indian Himalayas, Philippines and Vietnam.
