April and May are great months to soak up some early summer sunshine, the Mediterranean is warming up and there are some great bargains to had further afield. May is arguably the best month of the year to travel - you'll find amazing weather in many of the world's best destinations and great bargains
Here are the best places to go for early sun:
Mediterranean
The Mediterranean in April boasts long sunny days, few crowds and friendly local expectant of the summer season to come. Walking holidays are popular, with spring wildflowers still in abundance, although the sea will still have a slight chill. By May the weather is generally marvellous, with everything warming except the prices, so a great value time to travel.

Caribbean
The weather in the Caribbean over Easter is simple amazing and it is genuinely a magical time to visit. Low season rates come into play after Easter, providing incredible bargains and a great excuse to grab some early sunshine.

Indian Ocean
The tropical paradise islands of the Indian Ocean are some of the best options in April and May. Diving and snorkelling is in full swing and honeymooners understandably flock to the blonde-sand beaches and blue-eyed waters.

Far East
Spring is a great time to holiday in the Far East, although it is important check the monsoon weather patterns in the various different regions. Consider exploring the beaches and jungles of Borneo, the east coast resorts of Malaysia and the eastern islands in the Gulf of Thailand.
