Just Another Day in Middle-earth shows viewers just how close Middle-earth really is.
Ahead of the premiere of the second film in The Hobbit trilogy in two weeks time, Air New Zealand, Official Airline of Middle-earth, has launched a new video, Just Another Day in Middle-earth, which shows viewers just how close Middle-earth is.
Head of Global Brand Development Jodi Williams noted that there is a common perception that New Zealand is tucked away at the bottom of the earth and the perceived distance barrier stops some travellers considering the country as a destination.
Williams noted that in reality, 'For travellers from the majority of Air New Zealand's long haul destinations, Middle-earth is just a sleep away.'
The video, featuring Air New Zealand flight attendants, pilots, aircraft engineers, an aircraft marshal, baggage handlers and airport staff as themselves, also includes The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug actor Dean O'Gorman, who plays dwarf Fili, and the voice of Sylvester McCoy, The Hobbit Trilogy's Radagast the Brown.
Dean O'Gorman said, 'The video captures both the magic of The Hobbit films and the unique personality of Air New Zealand.'
Three viewers of the video also have the chance to win a once-in-a lifetime trip to the world premiere of the film in Los Angeles and a fourth will win a unique holiday for two to New Zealand, middle-earth itself.
Air New Zealand is also set to unveil a Boeing 777-300 aircraft in special Hobbit-inspired livery; the flying billboard will be presented in Auckland on 2 December and depart for Los Angeles that evening, arriving in time for the premiere of the film.
