The best hotel in Oceania can be found in the popular New Zealand tourist destination of Glenorchy, according to readers of Condé Nast Traveler.
A poll in the US identified Blanket Bay as the preferred choice, with the recognition coming as it celebrates its tenth anniversary.
Chief executive of Tourism New Zealand George Hickton noted that Blanket Bay was recently named by readers of the UK version of the publication as the top leisure hotel in Australasia.
"This second award is another real achievement for the hotel and this kind of coverage is a wonderful way for New Zealand to get noticed in very competitive long-haul markets," he added.
With the site coming third overall in the list of top 100 resorts worldwide, owner Tom Tusher observed that the country is unique in offering small, luxury lodges as its best form of accommodation.
Meanwhile, Air New Zealand has been voted second-best long-haul carrier by readers of the Guardian.
