Holidaymakers planning to spend time in New Zealand should head to the country's glacial regions for an "absolutely amazing" experience.
Glacier Explorers offers trips to the terminal lake of the Tasman Glacier in New Zealand - with its own employees enjoying the trips as much as their customers. Most recently, that was because a large chunk of the glacier floating in the lake had become top-heavy and, ultimately, rolled over to rebalance itself.
Glacier Explorers operations manager, Bede Ward, says: "We knew it was likely to happen for about a week prior and extended our safety zone accordingly.
"But everyone was just blown away to actually see it - it was absolutely amazing."
The peace and quiet of a slow-moving glacier could be seen as a metaphor for the political peace enjoyed across New Zealand.
Journey etc recently listed the destination among the world's seven safest tourism hotspots, adding that this could prove to be a big selling point for visitors.
