Then, on January 28 and 29, 2011, many of the world’s leading producers of pinot noir from around with globe will converge on the region for the biennial Mornington Peninsula International Pinot Noir Celebration.
Considered one of the leading industry events in the world, this two-day event is must for pinot noir lovers and an opportunity to celebrate this cool climate variety from a global prospective.
Predominantly an event for industry and serious consumers, the celebration also includes one public event - the Pinot Garden Showcase on 30 January.
Held at Lindenderry, Red Hill, the showcase invites wine and food enthusiasts to enjoy a number of Mornington Peninsula pinot noirs, alongside delicious regional food in a relaxed outdoor setting.
Guests are given a tasting glass and can wander between the stalls, sampling food and wine and chatting to winemakers. A highlight of the showcase is the Burgundy Masterclass, held three times throughout the day.
