The following airports are currently closed:
The Foreign Office has advised that Tokyo Narita Airport is open, although flights to and from the airport are experiencing some disruptions.
However, onward transport from the airport is difficult, with the Narita Express suspended on 14 March and Skyliner also suspended from 11:00 - 17:00. Buses are available.
1700 people are currently stranded at Narita and airport authorities are distributing sleeping bags and food.
Tokyo Haneda Airport is open, although flights are subject to cancellation.

- Yamagata is partially open
- Shonai is partially open
- Odate Noshino is partially open
- Fuksushima is partially open
British Airways, JAL, Virgin Atlantic and ANA are operating. However, travellers are strongly advised to contact their airlines before they travel.
