Tourists wishing to experience a more sociable and intimate cruise ship holiday should journey to locations in Croatia, it has been claimed.
Writing for The Times, Mark Solomons stated that he and his family took a seven-day vacation aboard The Adriatic Queen and discovered a more relaxed atmosphere.
"This is cruising for people who don't do cruising," he remarked, adding that it is not a "large, anonymous hotel on sea".
According to Mr Solomons, the dining was informal, the atmosphere onboard was casual and passengers can wear what they desire, as well as choose what activities to do and when.
The food is also excellent, he observed, with fish being caught every day from the side of the boat, while numerous vegetarian options are available for people who do not eat meat.
These sentiments were recently shared by Daily Mail writer Sarah Gordon, who stated that smaller cruise ships provide guests with a more communal vibe.
