The prestigious event will take place 23-25 July across two of the island’s premier venues - Qualia and the new Hamilton Island Yacht Club - and is the second in a three-weekend series designed to showcase both Australia’s finest food and wine and the stunning Whitsunday setting of Hamilton Island.
Former Australian MasterChef presenter, Sarah Wilson, is master of ceremonies for the series and James Halliday, one of the world’s leading authorities on Australian wine, will be selecting the vintages.
The event will open with a beachside welcome dinner at Qualia, prepared by the resort’s executive chef, Jane Therese Mulry, who was appointed Marco Pierre White’s first female Head Chef when she was working in London kitchens.
Justin will provide exclusive cooking instruction during a cooking Master Class, before a Yacht Club lunch and showpiece dinner - with live camera link-up - will take guests through the preparation of his culinary delights.
The Great Barrier Feast has cultivated a reputation as one of Australia’s most intimate and prestigious food and wine events. An annual fixture in the Hamilton Island calendar, The Great Barrier Feast undertook a new three-weekend format for 2010. The third and final weekend is set to take place in November.
Hamilton Island is located off the Queensland coast of Australia, within the Whitsunday Islands and at the edge of the Great Barrier Reef.
