Reporting to: Head of Leisure Sales

Responsible for:

Managing a team of leisure sales specialists as well as delivering and exceeding your own personal sales target (50% of specialist target). Additionally team leaders will be required to manage the whole leisure sales team once a month at weekends and will also form part of the duty supervisor roster for out-of-hours emergencies.

Overall purpose of position:

The Team Leaders are responsible for delivering high-value sales and outstanding personal service to our clients through your work and your team of tailor-made travel and cruise specialists.

Your time will be split evenly between sales and managing and motivating your team to maximise sales from initial leads through to closing the sale and ensuring our clients have fantastic holidays so they come back to us time and time again.

You’ll have a personal passion for luxury, experiential travel and a natural empathy with clients, as well as experience managing and delivering high-touch customer service through your work. Strong destination and product knowledge, either gained from working in destination or for a luxury tour operator, are required so you can support and assist your team with complex client needs.

Key responsibilities/objectives – managing your team:

  • You will work closely with other Team Leaders and the Head of Leisure Sales to ensure consistency and high standards are continually delivered
  • Manage the performance of each individual team member, adapting and changing your management style to drive the best results from each of them, whilst maintaining consistency in company policy
  • Actively work with your tailor-made specialists to generate new leads and bookings from existing clients and foster an environment where specialists are encouraged to build their own high repeat-client database
  • Respond to client service and emergency issues with a can-do and considerate attitude, working closely with our client relations manager and ensure client problems are solved quickly and expediently
  • Assist in the management of out of office hours emergency situations
  • Be commercially aware of opportunities to increase sales and earnings and share ideas with the team
  • Quality control – weekly monitoring of your team's performance and individual stats including regular one-to-one coaching and quality monitoring
  • Ensure leisure sales and your team meet and exceed sales targets
  • Ensure that our service level at Wexas is second to none and implement any changes where necessary to effect an improvement
  • Assist with the distribution of enquiries and manage leave and lieu
  • Proactively encouraging the sharing of knowledge

Professional/technical competencies:

  • Lead by example, consistently delivering and exceeding your consultant sales targets whilst following company policy
  • GDS experience, ideally Amadeus
  • In-depth knowledge of tailor-made travel (and cruise)
  • Commercially aware
  • Able to inspire, motivate and develop our sales teams

  • Displays self-confidence and is able to use own initiative to find solutions to problems
