Passengers on Qantas Boeing 767 services are to be provided with iPads for their in-flight entertainment following a successful trial of new in-air streaming technology.
Passengers in both business and economy classes will be given iPads free of charge to access entertainment programmes and will be available by the end of the year, mainly on domestic east routes routes and services to Perth.
The announcement comes as Qantas has been named the domestic airline with the best punctuality for the third year in a row.
Qantas' on-time departure performance stood at 84.4% for the year ending 30 June 2012, according to data released by the Federal Government's Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics.
In comparison Virgin Australia's on-time departure was 82.9%, with Jetstar lagging behind with just 76.4%.
