The forum, which too place in July, aims to provide information and funding opportunities to small and medium sized tourism businesses and to develop workshops to publicise the needs of the tourism sector throughout the country.
The launch of the forum was chaired by the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Jose Napoleon Duarte Duran, and through the support and of the Salvadorean Tourism Corporation he sought to present the different financing options available for projects which could the sustainable development of tourism in El Salvador.
Mr Duarte said: "This Forum will be very productive for the industry and will give guidance and talks on the association and formalisation of business, electronic commerce, intellectual property, and the promotion of the National Tourism Registry.
This will enable them [businesses] to gain the tools to work and ensure the vitality and sustainability of the sector, considering the importance of the national economy."
The forum was attended by many key international organisations, including the Agency for International Development Cooperation, the United Nations Development Programme, and various international development banks."
