Cricket enthusiasts should take a trip down under in 2010 due to the country hosting this year's Ashes, according to one travel industry commentator.
Tourism Australia general manager for the UK and Europe, Rodney Harrex, said the legendary competition between England and Australia is an excellent chance for holidaymakers to enjoy the nation's favourite pastimes.
He remarked: "Attending an Aussie sporting event of this calibre as part of an Aussie holiday is an incredible thing to do."
Those not interested in the cricket still have a number of activities in which to take part, he added, such as wine-tasting and surfing.
Making a trek to the outback is also something every visitor should try when in the country, Mr Harrex explained.
"We look forward to welcoming English fans to Australia," he continued.
The Ashes is not the only sporting spectacular to take place in 2010, with the football World Cup going to South Africa and the Commonwealth Games being hosted by Delhi, India.
