Day 1
UK/Lisbon

Make the most of complimentary lounge access before your flight to Lisbon, one of Portugal’s most atmospheric cities. A private transfer will take you to a four star hotel at the heart of the city, leaving you ample time to check in and relax before dinner. This is a fabulous start to your stay – fine dining while taking in a live Fado performance. This poignant and romantic tradition of song is so transcendent that it qualifies as one of the rare UNESCO Cultural Heritages in the world.

Day 2
Sintra, Colares and Cascais

Sintra is a magical place. Your personal chauffeur will pick you up after breakfast for the leisurely drive to this hilltop and extremely picturesque Portuguese town, set amidst pines, full of exquisite historical architecture. A classic Portuguese lunch, after a guided tour of Pena Place, is as pleasurable. Then sit back and relax on the drive to one of the most western vineyards on the continent. Situated in the charming region of Colares, this is a wonderful place to enjoy a wine-tasting session before visiting Cascais, a thriving and traditional fishing village.

Day 3
Setúbal Peninsula and Alacácer Do Sal

After breakfast, your driver will whisk you off over the Tagus river, to meet an artisanal wine-producer for a convivial and intimate tasting. Lunch follows, a delicious feast in the tiny village of Alácer do Sal, renown for producing salt, a series of old bridges and an ancient castle. The afternoon is yours to discover the many charms of Lisbon.

Day 4
Évora

Your private driver will pick you up from Lisbon to take you south to Évora. An UNESCO World Heritage Site, this is the most charismatic city in the Alentejo, itself one of Portugal’s most attractive regions. After a guided walking tour of the city’s historical heart, check in to your four-star hotel before an afternoon at leisure to explore the fascinating streets and sights of this beguiling destination.

Day 5
Reguengos de Mosaraz and Alqueva Dam

Start the day with a wonderful and lingering visit with a legendary wine producer in Reguengos de Monsaraz. The region is as famous for its scenery as it is for sprawling vineyards. After the tasting, your driver will be on hand to take you to the gorgeously atmospheric medieval village of Monsaraz, one of Portugal’s hidden gems, with superb views and exceptional atmosphere. It’s situated right beside Alqueva, the largest dam in Western Europe. A sailing boat is on standby for a cruise, where traditional smoked sausages and cheese are served alongside the striking surrounds.

Day 6
Évora and Arraiolos

After a relaxing morning, your driver will take you for an afternoon of wine-tasting in Arraiolos, an historic and small village typical of the Alentejo. The wine-producer is one of the finest in the region, as are the wines available for a leisurely sampling.

Day 7
Torres Vedras and Óbidos

Enjoy a chauffeured drive from Évora to Óbidos, a charming village in central Portugal. There’s time en route for a stop off at an esteemed organic wine producer for a tasting, which includes lunch in beautiful surroundings. Walk it off in the afternoon while investigating the medieval attractions of Óbidos and its castle walls – the village was nominated as one of Portugal’s 7 Wonders. End the day in your 4-star hotel in the city of Porto.

Day 8
Porto and Gaia

A walking tour in the morning is the perfect way to absorb the atmosphere of Oportos’s historical centre, a World Heritage Site. Then savour a port wine tasting in a notable cellar in Gaia, famous for the production of Portugal’s beloved sweet wine. A Rabelo boat, used traditionally to transport port wine barrels along the Douro river, will take you on a 6 bridges cruise afterwards. The afternoon is free for further exploration of Oporto’s many attractions.

Day 9
Douro Valley

The Douro Valley is the oldest demarcated wine region in the world. Your driver will take you to one of the best estates in the Douro for a guided tour, wine tasting and lunch. Then indulge in their wine-maker for a day challenge, by creating your own wine based on blending the vineyard’s own grapes.

Day 10
Porto Gastronomic Experience

Your last day in Portugal is dedicated to a celebration of the country’s exceptional cuisine. An olive oil tasting in the centre of city starts off proceedings before a relaxing afternoon and a fun-filled cooking class. The session is based on traditional cuisine, and is a fantastic way to experience local flavours and produce and to finish your stay.

Depart for UK
