Get a taste of Thailand's cities, jungles and beaches as you contrast the exhilarating bustle of boisterous Bangkok with the indigenous hill tribes and gilded temples of laid-back Chiang Mai. Then, fly south to Krabi on the sun-kissed Andaman Coast to spend long, sunny days relaxing on postcard-perfect sands set to a stunning backdrop of sheer limestone cliffs.
Day by day itinerary
Depart the UK
Begin your holiday in style with included VIP airport lounge access before your overnight flight to Thailand.
Arrive into Bangkok for your private transfer to the Riva Surya, a stylish boutique hotel ideally located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River just minutes from the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun. Over the next two days you'll get to know Thailand's capital as you take in colourful street markets, neon-clad mega-malls and lavishly carved temples hidden in atmospheric back streets. While we've left your time here free for independent exploration, our specialists will be happy to book and number of exper-led tours; perhaps head to the floating markets in Thonburi, visit silk entrepreneur Jim Thompson's House, or board a traditional rice barge for a gourmet dinner cruise.
Stay: Riva Surya Bangkok (Superior)
Between private transfers, you'll fly north to Chiang Mai for a stay at the Tamarind Village whose rooms and suites are idyllically set around peaceful garden courtyards and furnished to reflect the rich ethnic diversity of the region's mountain tribes. It's also perfectly placed to explore the red-brick monasteries and temple-lined streets of the old town that fan out in every direction from the hotel's fabulous central location. No visit to Chiang Mai, however, would be complete without a trip out into its jungle-clad mountain surrounds. Here, plunging waterfalls, bubbling hot springs and pristine rainforest reserves hide sleepy villages home to some of the country's last remaining minority tribes – Hmong, Karen, Lisu, Akha and Padaung – each with their own unique customs, language and dress. Speak to our specialists about arranging a tour.
Stay: Tamarind Village (Superior)
Leave the mountains far behind as a private transfer and flight hop bring you south to Krabi. Here, you'll check into the Rayavadee for a week on luxurious, palm-fringed relaxation. Situated at the heart of the Phranang Peninsular on the edge of Krabi Marine National Park, the resort's cliff-framed gardens provides the ultimate in tropical seclusion, where spa indulgences and a host of gourmet dining experiences set the scene for a truly memorable stay. Be sure to enjoy afternoon cocktails and light bites, or even a delicious barbecue dinner, at The Grotto, a wonderful, open-air restaurant set under an ancient limestone cliff with uninterrupted views across the Andaman Sea.
Stay: Rayavadee, Krabi, Thailand (Deluxe)
