Since its launch in September 2007, and as of 30 November 2010, The WEXAS Travel Foundation has raised £18,020.
Recent fundraising initiatives
- Sea to Sea (C2C) Cycle Ride
As the autumn equinox approached, five WEXAS staff cycled across Britain from Whitehaven on the Irish Sea to Tynemouth on the North Sea – a daunting 142 miles across the Lake District and the Penines. Read the full report. - Newquay to Land’s End
In July 2009, tackling a section of the South West Coast Path designed to be walked in five days or more, WEXAS staff covered the 66 miles from Newquay to Land’s End in just three painful days. In doing so, they raised over £2,000 for The WEXAS Travel Foundation. Read the full report. - Summer Fair 2009
A week of fundraising activities including a raffle, a bake sale, a curry lunch, tarot readings and an exclusive travel auction. - Three Peaks Challenge
On a wet and windy weekend in August 2008, nine WEXAS staff raised over £2,000 by taking on the Three Peaks Challenge. The challenge involves getting up and down the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. Read the full report - Dress-down days
WEXAS has a charity dress-down day on the last Friday of every month, in which staff members are asked to donate £1 for the privilege of dressing-down at work. Four times a year, the nominated charity is the The WEXAS Travel Foundation - Bake sales

Rita Jobanputra, from our Membership Team, sold portions of her delicious family-recipe curry to staff in the office – giving all proceeds to the The WEXAS Travel Foundation - Spring into Action
In spring 2008, staff participated in a week of fundraising activities, including a raffle, bake sale, bring-and-buy sale and a hotly contested pub quiz. All proceeds went to the The WEXAS Travel Foundation
