Location
Located a stone’s throw away from the historical battlefields of Rorkes Drift and Isandlwana, Zulu Lodge is situated within the 4,000 acre Isibindi Eco-Reserve. Nestled amongst diverse landscapes ranging from montane grassland and valet thornveld to riverine forests, the reserve is home to an abundance of wildlife including giraffe, zebra and wildebeest. The nearest airport from Zulu is approximately six hours away by road; alternatively, guests can make use of the private landing strip with available charters.
Accommodation
Architecturally inspired by the traditional Zulu beehive shape, the 12 beehive suites offer panoramic views of the reserve and each feature a viewing deck, en suite bedrooms, separate baths and spacious showers. The first-class Honeymoon Suite commands views of a particularly game-rich area of the reserve, individually set along the ridge ensuring privacy complete with a romantic, sunken stone bath.
Dining
Zulu Lodge takes pride in its cuisine, renowned for its reputation of presentation and South African fair. Breakfasts and lunches are served al fresco, with dinner enjoyed around the outdoor boma. Picnics and bush breakfasts can be arranged if guests wish to dine on the reserve, while meals are cooked to order.
Facilities
Zulu Lodge offers guided tours of the Anglo-Zulu battlefields, alongside rare opportunities of learning about the Zulu culture and traditions as they remain in Zululand today.
