This is a wonderful eight-day, luxury self-drive tour combining the picturesque city of Cape Town with the nearby world-famous Winelands.
4 nights Cape Town • 3 nights Franschhoek (Cape Winelands)
Day 1: Cape Town
On arrival in Cape Town, collect your hire car and proceed to the Cape Grace, a luxurious boutique hotel located in Cape Town’s famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. The hotel is perfectly situated on its own private quay but within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants of the vibrant waterfront area and the Robben Island ferry terminal.

Days 2-4: Cape Town
Spend these three days exploring Cape Town. A trip up Table Mountain is a must, while other options include exploring the Cape Peninsula, swimming with penguins at Boulders Beach or taking a ferry to Robben Island, the former prison of Nelson Mandela. Be sure to make time to shop and dine at the vibrant V&A Waterfront and to simply relax on the white-sand beaches that surround the city. Whatever you choose to do, Cape Town will not disappoint.

Day 5: Winelands
A mere 45-minute drive from Cape Town are the picturesque Cape Winelands. Verdant vineyards and Cape Dutch architecture are the iconic images of this region, however the hospitality and fantastic cuisine come as a pleasant surprise to all who visit. Your hotel for the next three days is Franschhoek Country House, ideally situated just outside the gourmet capital of South Africa, Franschhoek.

Days 6-7: Winelands
These two days are free to enjoy the beautiful surrounds of the Cape Winelands. Explore the historic town of Stellenbosch, take lazy lunches at the superb vineyards, taste the world-class wines, sample the delights of Franschhoek or visit the lesser-known but charming towns of Robertson or Paarl.

Day 8: Depart for UK
Depart the Winelands and head back to Cape Town for some last-minute shopping before dropping your car off at the airport in time for your homeward flight.
