This five-day tour will introduce you to Slovenia's stunningly beautiful alpine landscapes, its fascinating history and culture and delicious gourmet cuisine. Throughout the holiday, you'll stay at the luxurious Hotel Cubo in Ljubljana, an ideal base from which to explore Slovenia's most iconic sites. Highlights include wine tasting, a private walking tour through Ljubljana, and a private boat trip on Lake Bled, with guided visit to Bled Castle. 

Day by day itinerary

Day 1
Ljubljana

Upon arrival in Ljubljana you will greeted at the airport and transferred to your accommodation: perfectly located near the old town - an ideal position to explore the beautiful city of Ljubljana. Begin your Slovenian holiday by taking a cable car ride to Ljubljana Castle the cities most prominent landmark, which has undergone numerous changes over its rich and dynamic history. The visit is an excellent opportunity for photography enthusiasts, as the castle offers magnificent, panoramic views of the city and its surroundings.

Day 2
Ljubljana

After breakfast today embark on a private walking tour. Your guide will explain Ljubljana’s history and show you some of the most picturesque corners of Slovenia’s capital. After your walking tour, take a handmade wooden boat to view some of the old town's major sights from a unique vantage point, while you enjoy a wine tasting of selected top Slovenian wines.

Day 3
Škocjan Caves and Piran

After breakfast, pick-up your car hire and visit of the Škocjan Caves, followed by a visit to the coastal city of Piran with lunch included. The most beautiful part of the Škocjan Caves Park is undoubtedly a set of eleven caves known as the Škocjan Caves. They are a UNESCO World Heritage site, and are the only natural Slovenian site on the list. Piran has had a strong Venetian influence with its open square to the sea. Visit St George's cathedral overlooking the city with panoramic views of the Slovenian coast.

Day 4
Lake Bled and Bohinj

After breakfast drive to Bled, famous for its blue-green alpine lake, church on an island, and some of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps and Karavanke. Try the world famous Bled cake before joining Private 'pletna' boat ride to the Island of Bled, where you will visit Bled Castle as well as the Church and Tower.

Lake Bled and its surroundings are among the most beautiful alpine resorts in the world. The area is renowned for its mild climate, thermal lake water, and beautiful mountain landscape that is reflected in the lake, which make for an excellent day trip. In the middle of the lake is the beautiful Bled Island that has some excellent sites to visit, including the Bled Castle, the town of Bled and the wider countryside of the Gorenjska region. 

Continue to Bohinj, in the Triglav National Park, take the cable car to the summit of Mount Vogel for panoramic views. On top you will have great dining options including the Zadnji Vogel mountain hut offering homemade traditional Slovenian dish koruzni zganci, an Alpine dairyman's cold platter, homemade schnapps, whey and cottage cheese strudel. Return to Ljubljana for your last evening in Slovenia.

Departure

Return you car hire to Ljubljana Airport to take your return flight to London.
