Re-launched in 2008 this engaging resort continues to make waves. In 2011 it has been nominated for numerous awards and is earning rave reviews on Tripadvisor.
Located just 50km from Faro airport, the Vilalara Thalassa Resort is a lakeside haven of style, comfort and exclusivity. The 100 junior suites and 24 suites & apartments all have private terraces and are decorated in cool neutral shades. They nestle amongst the 12 hectares of landscaped gardens and six outdoor pools if that is not enough the resort has direct access to Praia das Gaivotas beach.
This resort housed the first thalassaotherapy centre in Portugal and now has over 20 treatment rooms, the adjoining Spa Centre has a further 22 rooms. For the more active, golf and tennis are also on the doorstep.
We like: The Social Area - a spacious multipurpose centre where guests can enjoy, reading or playing board games.
