On this sample tour we’ve combined the ancient culture of the Inca Empire with a memorable sailing trip around the Galapagos. Day 1 Lima
Arrive in Lima and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Sacred Valley
Fly over the Andes to Cuzco and continue by road to the Sacred Valley where you’ll spend the night. En route, visit Pisac - bursting with colour on market days - and the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo.
Day 3 Machu Picchu
Arrive by train and enjoy a full-day tour of this famous Inca citadel.
Days 4-5 Cuzco
Return by rail to Cuzco and explore its many fascinating museums, markets, churches and cathedrals.
Day 6 Quito
Fly to Quito, Ecuador. Transfer to your hotel before an evening tour of the city and dinner. Evening illuminations add real drama to the city’s baroque architecture.
Days 7-8 Avenue of Volcanoes
Travel across the highlands along the suitably named Avenue of Volcanoes. On clear days, the snowcapped cone of Cotopaxi Volcano is a remarkable sight. Spend a night at a 300-year-old hacienda before continuing through dramatic mountain scenery to Riobamba.
Day 9 Guayaquil
Visit an Indian town on the way to Cuenca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, from where you’ll take a flight to Guayaquil, Ecuador’s largest city and the gateway to the Galapagos.
Days 10-13 Cruising in the Galapagos
Fly to the Galapagos to embark on a four-night cruise aboard M/V Santa Cruz. Marvel at the massive diversity of wildlife in the air, on land and in the sea.
Days 14-15 Guayaquil
Return to Guayaquil for your final night before transferring to the airport the next day.
