Grand Canyon Hotels
Introduction
To discover real America is to get away
from the iconography. Like fast food you might take in the Big
Apple, Disneyworld, Hollywood, Vegas and all the ‘star bangled
banner’ has to offer but more stable fare can be
found elsewhere. The genuine warmth of the deep south, the
true unspoilt
beauty of the prairies, the grand
canyon, the natural parks of Yellowstone and Yosemite or the great
lakes. Why not enjoy the freedom and adventure of taking your car
out on the open road and discover the real America? You may also
just find out why so few native to the states choose to take a
vacation
overseas.
Las Vegas
The city that glitters 24 hours a day needs no introduction. It
has it all – world–class hotels and resorts, fantastic restaurants,
critically acclaimed shows, first rate golf, luxury spas, the best
casinos and gaming on the globe and exciting entertainment and
attractions for everyone. If you tire of tugging on the slot
machines, the surrounding area has some of the region's most
beautiful scenery. Las Vegas lies in the midst of a spectacular
setting of natural wonders such as the Grand Canyon.
Arizona
Arizona is everything the
Southwest is supposed to be - there are canyons, deserts, cacti,
mountains, ghost towns, Indian tribes and abundant sunshine. Most
famous of all there is the
Grand Canyon, destination for millions of visitors each year,
but there are also hundreds of miles of scenic land with many other
canyons large and small waiting to be explored. Several artificial
lakes, formed by dams on the Salt and Colorado rivers, provide many
recreational opportunities and a welcome relief from the summer
heat.
Grand Canyon
Visit the South Rim at dawn for a sense of the
normity of nature. Spend a day trekking in the canyon, or get a
permit and camp on the canyon floor. Or, for the less energetic,
take to the air in a helicopter and watch the ground drop away.
Denali National Park, Alaska Admire the tundra and glaciers in
Alaska’s finest park, home to bears and wolves, with views of North
America’s highest peak, Mount McKinley.
