Kathmandu

Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is a fascinating old city where pagodas, narrow cobbled lanes, old carved windows, and stone shrines all add to the intoxicating atmosphere. Highlights include the courtyards and chambers of the Royal Palace and Durbar Square with its highly detailed wooden temples. Nearby is Swayambhunath, the 2,000-year old Buddhist stupa with its copper-gilded conical spire.

Chitwan National Park

At the foot of the Himalayas, Royal Chitwan National Park is an area of tall grassland and magnificent forest, one of Asia’s richest and most spectacular wildlife sanctuaries. The river plains and steaming jungle host one of the largest populations of the rare Bengal Tiger, along with the one-horned rhinos and wild elephants that are best viewed on elephantback safaris.

Pokhara – 3-DAY GUIDED TREK

The trek follows a ridgeline in the lower foothills of the Annapurnas with surrounding views of Pokhara Valley. The route then drops down to the Modi River Valley and Sanctuary Lodge, giving way to magnificent views of Fishtail Mountain. Climbing to 1,450m, reach Gurung Lodge for the second night’s rest. Visit the village of Tanchok, and a local school. Trek through the village Patlekhet, and stop off at Pothana, home of many Tibetan traders. Finally arrive at Basanta Lodge for the last night. From the lodge, there are stunning views of the entire Annapurna Range.

Bhaktapur Bhaktapur or ‘the City of Devotees’ is in many ways the most medieval of the three main cities in the Kathmandu Valley. Fourteen kilometres east of Kathmandu, this peaceful, conservative town stands in sharp contrast to the bustle of its neighbours, Kathmandu and Patan. The past glory of the Malla rulers continues to be reflected in the Durbar Square.
