Tour Namibia in comfort and style

Explore the bare plains of the Namib Desert, the apricot coloured dunes of Sossusvlei, the romantic coastal town of Swakopmund nestled between the Ocean and the Desert, the rough terrain of Damaraland and the abundant wildlife in the world renowned Etosha National Park on this classic Namibia tour. Travel in comfort in a large 4x4 vehicle and stay in luxurious accommodation throughout.

Itinerary in brief:
1 night Windhoek, 1 night Okonjima, 2 nights Etosha National Park, 2 nights Damaraland, 1 night Skeleton Coast, 1 night Swakopmund & 2 nights Namib Naukluft National Park / Sossusvlei.

Journey in detail:

Day 1: Windhoek
On arrival at Windhoek International Airport, collect your 4x4 and proceed to your hotel. A small, friendly capital, Windhoek is spread across a wide valley between bush-covered hills, and though its pavement cafes and old German architecture create a European feel, the street vendors will remind you you’ve arrived in Africa.
Stay 1 night at Olive Grove Guest House. (B)

Day 2: Windhoek - Okonjima
After breakfast depart from Windhoek and set off for Okonjima via Okahandja, an important centre for woodcarvers from the north, who practice their ancient skills at the Woodcarvers Market next to the main road. Continue on to arrive at Okonjima, home of the Africat Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation and protection of Namibian wild cats, in particular leopard and cheetah. Enjoy the opportunity to admire and photograph these predators.
Stay 1 night at Okonjima Bush Camp. (B,D)

Days 3-4: Okonjima - Etosha National Park
Continue north through Namibia to arrive at the Ongava Reserve, adjacent to the Etosha National Park. Ongava Tented Camp is Etosha’s best kept secret, tucked into a hidden valley at the foot of an anonymous hill in the privately owned 30,000-ha Ongava Game Reserve bordering the Etosha National Park. This complete Etosha experience in private luxury offers activities such as guided walks, bird watching, rhino tracking, night drives, great company and great food.
Stay 2 nights at Ongava Lodge. (B,L,D)

Day 5-6: Etosha National Park - Damaraland
Your route takes you through the rugged plains of the Damaraland to arrive at the Twyfelfontein area, experiencing the harsh transition from the Namib Desert to the Damaraland highlands with its impressive landscape and ragged valleys. Damaraland Camp is situated in the Huab River Valley, arguably the most pristine wilderness area in Namibia. It is lauded as one of the country’s best camps, with sensational views of the surrounding desert plains, ancient valleys and soaring peaks of the Brandberg Mountains.

En-route sights include the Petrified Forest, Twyfelfontein rock engravings and paintings, as well as the Burnt Mountain and Organ Pipes. Activities throughout the area are in 4x4 open Land Rovers and on foot. Head out for early morning game drives, returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, either enjoy a guided walk or a sundowner safari before dinner.
Stay 2 nights at Damaraland Camp (B,D)

Day 7: Damaraland - Skeleton Coast
Leaving the Damaraland behind you, enter the Skeleton Coast National Park and travel south along the coast, inspecting a shipwreck along the way. Continue to the Cape Cross seal colony, famed for having up to 100,000 Cape Fur seals. Cape Cross Lodge is situated on Namibia’s Skeleton Coast with its own private beach front, being very convenient for the Cape Cross Seal Reserve.
Stay 1 night at Cape Cross Lodge (B,D)

Day 8: Skeleton Coast - Swakopmund
Depart from Cape Cross along the Atlantic Coast towards the south. Visit Henties Bay, a small holiday resort before continuing on to the coastal resort town of Swakopmund. This quaint desert town with its old-world charm and relaxed atmosphere hedged by desert and sea, is enhanced by lush green lawns and palm trees.
Stay 1 night at Central Guest House (B)

Days 9-10: Swakopmund - Namib Naukluft National Park / Sossusvlei
After breakfast, drive through the stunning Namib Naukluft, home to enormous Lawrence-of-Arabia sand dunes, vast gravel plains, towering mountain ranges and deep sculptured canyons. The Namib - known as ’The Living Desert’ - is a world of vast space, endless horizons, dramatic desertscapes and jagged mountain heights. Led by Sossusvlei’s expert rangers and naturalists, explore the desert by quadbikes (all-terrain four-wheeled motorcycles), open 4x4 vehicles - even by hot-air balloon (optional).
Stay 2 nights at &Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge. (AI)

Day 11: Sossusvlei - Windhoek
After breakfast, drive back to Windhoek and return your hire car at the airport for your onward flight.

B = Breakfast, L = Lunch, D = Dinner, AI = All meals and drinks including local alcoholic drinks.
