MV Orion’s Borneo Wildside Cruise aims to showcase some of Borneo’s undiscovered gems with an itinerary of exotic destinations on the southern and western coastlines of Borneo, taking in isolated tropical islands and abundant National Parks.

Time spent on the outlying islands of Kangean and Karimata Archipelagos will allow you to experience the colourful reefs and clear waters of this rarely visited region.Tanjung Puting National Park’s is one of Borneo’s great wonders and a wildlife mecca. A visit to Camp Leakey, within the park, is a highlight of the voyage, allowing you the opportunity to see the rehabilitation efforts of ex-captive Orang-utans.

The expedition also passes through Tanjung Datu, Gunung Palung and Bako National Parks to explore the complex ecosystems, which once covered the entire island.

The parks now provide refuge to over 15000 species of plants, 222 species of mammals, 420 resident birds, and numerous other reptile, amphibian and fish species.

MV Orion

MV Orion is a custom-made luxury expedition ship, elegantly appointed to offer the finest cruising experience around. Orion Expedition Cruises is the leading cruise operator specialising 5-star luxury cruises to Australia’s Kimberley region, Papua New Guinea, Melanesia, New Zealand and Antarctica.

Orion is a purpose-built vessel designed to access the inaccessible, all in 5-star luxury. From the ice-strengthened hull to the chilled champagne and superb cuisine, this is expedition cruising at its finest. Orion’s intimate style is more like a mega-yacht than a cruise ship. Her guests are few - around 50 couples, cared for by a crew of 75. Expedition cruising is different and you will find Orion is unlike any other ship you may have sailed on before.

Her appointments are luxurious, yet life onboard has a distinctly relaxed, Australian flavour with the international-standard service being warm and unobtrusive. The ambience is intimate and subtly elegant.
