Set in the heart of the Cardamom hills of Kerala, Spice Village offers an opportunity to enjoy South India's wildlife and beauty. The hotel lies just outside Periyar Tiger Reserve, and a stay there is the perfect way to appreciate and respect the environment.
Accommodation
Recreating the mood of the local tribal community, the resort architects have designed individual cottages amongst a landscaped spice garden. Each dwelling is thatched with elephant grass and offers simple luxury and privacy. Rooms are not artificially air-conditioned; instead they're naturally cool, with airy private porches.
Dining
The hotel is eco-friendly, which extends to the food it serves in its heritage themed Tiffin Room dining hall. All ingredients are sourced from within 50 miles of the hotel, slashing transportation emissions, and all vegetables are grown in Spice Village's organic farm. If you feel like a drink in the evening, head to The Woodhouse Bar, which also has a billiards table.

The hotel offers some fantastic and authentic experiences to enrich your stay and introduce you to the local environment. Spice Village is located very close to the Periyar Tiger Reserve, which is rich in flora and fauna - enjoy a day or night trek through this rich wilderness.
