Work experience guidelines

With only four issues a year, opportunities of work experience are limited. As such, Traveller gives priority to candidates who have just completed, are in the middle of, or are soon to embark on a recognised journalism course. Applicants should also be passionate about travel and about forging a career in travel or lifestyle journalism.

Placements can vary from a week to up to a month in length and applicants are expected to work close to the usual office hours (generally 9.30am to 6pm, possibly later when close to deadlines).

As Traveller has a particularly small staff team behind it, candidates have an excellent opportunity to learn about all aspects of magazine production. Tasks may include assisting with fact-checking, picture research, research and writing for department pages and administration.

Traveller is based in Knightsbridge, allowing for excellent transport links and retail opportunities.

The positions are unpaid, however a contribution may be made towards your travel costs.
