Day 1 Cairo
Arrive in Cairo and meet your tour representative who will transfer you to your hotel and assist with check-in. Spend the rest of the day relaxing in preparation for your adventure to begin.

Day 2 Cairo
After breakfast, you’ll meet your Egyptologist who will take you on morning tour of Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt dating from 3,100BC, then it’s on to the necropolis at Sakkara where you’ll find the the oldest known of Egypt’s 107 pyramids. In the afternoon proceed to the site of the most famous of all sites, the 4,500 year old pyramids at Giza. The Great Pyramid is the only survivor of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World". This is also the site of the legendary Sphinx, thought to have been built to guard the entrance to the Pharaoh’s burial site.

Day 3 Cairo
Visit the Egyptian Museum, home to an unparalleled collection of Egyptian artefacts with over 120,000 objects within 107 halls. Some of the most celebrated treasures are those taken from the tomb of King Tutankhamen. Proceed with a tour of Islamic Cairo visiting the spectacular 12th century citadel and several mosques. After this, try you hand at haggling for souvenirs at Cairo’s Khan el Khalili Bazaar, said to be the largest bazaar in the Middle East if not the world.

Day 4 Aswan
Take a short flight to Aswan, whose relaxed atmosphere, Nubian culture and beautiful setting are always a hit with
travellers. Transfer to your hotel where your guide with assist with your check-in and spend the rest of the day relaxing.

Day 5 Aswan
Enjoy at day at leisure in Aswan - perhaps float on a felucca, take tea on the veranda of the historic Cataract Hotel or book a fly-in-fly-out excursion to the colossal Sun Temple of Abu Simbel, rescued from flooding by UNESCO during the building of the High Dam.

Day 6 Nile cruise
Board the luxurious Sanctuary MS Nile Adventurer for a three-day cruise through Upper Egypt. After check-in, enjoy lunch on board before cruising to the majestic Philae Temple, followed by a visit to the quarries which used to supply the ancient Egyptians, where you can also view the unfinished obelisk. In the evening enjoy a cocktail reception hosted by the Boat Manager who will outline your programme for the next few days.

Day 7 Nile Cruise
Enjoy breakfast while cruising to Kom Ombo which stands at a bend in the Nile and is dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek. After a talk and a slide-show from your Egyptologist, lunch is served back on board en route to Edfu to view the Temple of Horus. Enjoy afternoon tea followed by an Egyptian cooking lesson on board. This evening, dine with an Egyptian theme with traditional entertainment being served up with delicious local delicacies.

Day 8 Nile Cruise
This morning, visit the west bank of Luxor and explore the Valley of the Kings, where magnificent tombs were carved into the valley rock, intricately decorated and filled with treasures for the afterlife. Then on to visit the Hatshepsut Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch visit the striking Temple of Luxor, followed by the Karnak Temple which took the Pharaohs over 1,000 years to build. Tonight, enjoy a farewell gourmet dinner onboard after which you’ll be entertained by a belly dancer and whirling dervish show.

Day 9 Hurghada
After a final breakfast on board, transfer to your Hurghada hotel and relax after your sightseeing adventure.

Days 10-13 Hurghada
Enjoy the next few days relaxing at your hotel or on the beach. Hurghada is a popular Red Sea resort, renowned for its watersports and warm weather. The offshore reefs are teeming with tropical fish and considered some of the best in the world; they can be explored by snorkelling, diving or even from a glass-bottomed boat.

Day 14
Return to Cairo by air for your return flight to the UK.
