MS Farah Nile Cruiser

Welcome to one of the latest Nile riverboats - the 5-star M/S Farah. Every single detail was designed to reflect the luxury of Egyptian hospitality, from the hand polished Mediterranean stone floors to the spacious triple-height foyer and the black glass reception desk. The Farah offers 60 deluxe cabins and 2 Royal Suites, including handmade Egyptian cotton sheets and natural dark wood furniture.

Cabins

All Cabins and suites are equipped with LCD TV, mini bar, private safe box, complimentary Internet connection, a private bathroom (with bathtub, hairdryer) and an individual control for the central air conditioner. For your safety, a smoke detector system panel and sprinkler are provided in all cabins and outlets of the boat. The ship owners made sure that no guest cabins are located near the engine area, a problem that can occur on other Nile river boats, ensuring a noise and vibration free experience. A pillow menu is also available, allowing you to select from soft, delicate, water, orthopaedic, and simple pillows.

Dining

In the large restaurant, you will have the chance to enjoy the Chefs carefully prepared meals. Both breakfast and lunch are offered in an open buffet, and dinner is a la carte. For those interested in re-creating the aromas and flavours of Egypt, a cooking lesson with the ships Chef is included.

Lounge Bar

After a long day of sightseeing and exploration, enjoy a drink in the Farah’s contemporary designed bar, or relax and watch the evenings entertainment.

Library

In a serene corner of the second floor, a small library is dedicated to Paulo Coelho, one of the most widely read and influential authors writing today. A range of his novels are available.

Sightseeing on you Farah Cruise

You cruise includes all sightseeing ashore from Luxor to Aswan and back to Luxor and can include:-

The Temple of Deir El-Bahri

The Temple of Deir El-Bahri is one of the most characteristic temples in the whole of Egypt, due to its design and decorations. It was built of limestone, not sandstone like most of the other funerary temples of the New Kingdom period

The Karnak Temple

The Temple of Karnak is the largest Temple in the World and contains a group of Temples such as the Great Temple of Amon Ra, The Temple of Khonso, The Ipt Temple, The Temple of Ptah, the Temple of Montho and the Temple of the God Osiris. A 20m high, mud brick enclosure wall, surrounds all of these buildings.

Luxor Temple

The Temple of Luxor is among the most beautiful Temples in Egypt. It was known in the New Kingdom period as Ipt-Rsyt, which means the southern shrine. This was to differentiate between this Temple and Karnak Temple, which was the northern house of Amon Ra

The Temple of Philae

Philae Island was a rocky island in the middle of the River Nile, south of Aswan. It was called in Hieroglyphic "Apo" which means Ivory. It was also known by the Greek "Elephantine", most probably because it was an important centre of trade, especially for ivory

The Unfinished Obelisk

The Unfinished Obelisk lies in its original location in a granite quarry in Aswan. It is 42m in length and was most probably abandoned when some cracks appeared in the rock, during its construction. Had this obelisk been completed, it would have been the heaviest obelisk ever cut in Ancient Egypt, weighing nearly 1100 tons. It is believed that it was constructed and abandoned during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut (18th Dynasty).

The High Dam

The High Dam of Aswan is a great project and is considered one of the most important achievements of the in the last century in Egypt. It provids Egypt with water and electricity and protects Egypt from floods.

The Temple of Edfu

Edfu is located 60Km to the north of Aswan. It was the 2nd Nome of Upper Egypt and the centre of the cult of a triad of Gods, which consisted of Horus of Behdet, Hathor, and their son, Hor-Sama-Tawy. In the old Greek documents, Edfu was known as "Apollopolis Magna" because the Greeks identified Horus with their God Apollo

The Temple of Kom Ombo

The Temple of Kom Ombo stands on the east bank of the Nile, right next to the river, about 4Km from the town. It was dedicated to two Gods, Horus and Sobek
The Temple was mainly dedicated to the God Sobek, the crocodile God, together with his wife, in another form of the Goddess Hathor
