Mekong river cruises

The Mekong forms the heart and soul of Indochina. A thread that connects Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam both geographically and culturally, it is an important trade route and living waterway, which can be explored on a Mekong River cruise.

In Laos the Mekong runs virtually the whole length of the country, passing through Luang Prabang, the capital Vientiane and through the serene 4,000 Islands before entering Cambodia. Cruise the lazy upper reaches in comfortable barges, stop at ancient Wat Phou and watch out for Irrawaddy river dolphins.

Cross border cruises often begin in Vietnam at the Mekong Delta, close to Ho Chi Minh City. Travel over the border into Cambodia and on upriver to Phnom Penh. Here, swap to the Tonle Sap and sail to Siem reap to see Angkor Wat.
