Moscenicka Draga, Kvarner

This traffic-free resort is made up of one of the best beaches in the area, 2 km long arc of small pebbles fringed with gardens, villas, patisseries and ice cream parlours.

Hotel Marina is a low-rise hotel built around a central garden courtyard complete with fountain and has been completely refurbished in the last two years. It’s a few minutes walk to the beach via a pedestrian zone.

Hotel Ambasador 5*
Opatija, Kvarner

Opatija is the longest-established resort in the Kvarner region. A place of grand Austro Hungarian buildings, manicured gardens and the Lungo Mare; a 12 km waterfront path.

The Hotel Ambasador has direct access to this path and just five minutes away from the centre of Opatija. Set in beautiful gardens with steps and paths down to the waterfront, the hotel has lots of space and big terraces for relaxing and watching sunsets.

Hotel Lipa 4*
Postira, Island of Brac

Brac is the third largest of Croatia’s Adriatic islands and produces some excellent wines. The village of Postira is a lovely little fishing village with some pretty, secluded coves and a good selection of restaurants and bars.

The Hotel Lipa boutique hotel opened in 2009 and is located on the seafront overlooking the old fishing village. A fine shingle beach is in front of the hotel and the spacious and stylish accommodation and public areas make this a fine choice.

Orebic is probably best known for its long shingle beaches and the lovely chapels and churches set into the hillside with glorious views over to Korcula. Lemon and orange groves are in abundance and this destination is ideal for those seeing a slower pace.

The Grand Hotel Orebic has a wonderful seashore location and has a gently sloping pebble beach in front of it. All 183 rooms have air-conditioning and are decorated in light colours. There is also a buffet restaurant and beach grill (seasonal).

Island of Lopud

The island of Lopud is a quiet haven within an easy 40-minute ferry ride from Dubrovnik. Cars are not allowed on the island (except service vehicles). Lopud Town has a small shingle and sand beach, while the famous Sunj Bay is a 2km walk or electric car ride over the hill.

The Hotel Villa Vilina is a charming boutique hotel built of local stone and set in gardens in an elevated position close to the centre of traffic-free Lopud village.
